The War On the Gaza Border and in Judea and Samaria

Continuous Updates

4:00 am Israel time (Wednesday)

4:00 am: Reports are that, as always, the Egyptians have engineered a ceasefire. Of course, the only sides that are firing are Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Thus far, more than 80 missiles and mortars have struck the Israeli communities along the Gaza border up to Ashkelon.

If this report is accurate, it will mark the end of yet another episode in the ongoing sorry saga in which the residents of southern Israel are repeatedly thrown under the bus–and are considered as nothing more than missile fodder by the government and the IDF.

3:15 am: Incoming missile sirens for Ashkelon Beach Area.

3:01 am: Incoming missile sirens for Ashkelon Industrial area, Netiv Ha’Asara.

2:54 am: Incoming missile sirens for Alumim.

2:33 am: Incoming missile sirens for Ashkelon and Sha’ar Hanegev. Reports on the ground in Ashkelon were that the city was hit by multiple volleys of at least 20 missiles.

Where the missiles hit.

Where the missiles hit.

2:29 am: Incoming missile sirens for the Ashkelon Industrial Area.

2:00 am Israel time (Wednesday)

As of this hour, southern Israel has been hit by at least 53 missiles and mortars since this latest mini-war began.

1:30 am: The IDF Spokesman pulled out of his drawer the same ludicrous announcement that is made during every one of these mini-wars:
“Fighter jets attacked a short time ago a compound that was used as a training camp for the terrorist organization Hamas and a military outpost of the organization, which includes a munitions warehouse, a munitions manufacturing site, and a training compound for the organization. At the same time, two munitions production sites used by the production headquarters of the terrorist organization Hamas, a concrete factory used to build the organization’s infrastructure, a military post of the Hamas naval formation and an underground tunnel used by the organization in the southern Gaza Strip were attacked.”

Simply put, the IDF attacked empty buildings, empty plots of land, sand dunes, and ramshackle empty “outposts”.

Even more simply put: “Real estate” bombings with no terrorists dead.

Tomorrow morning, the IDF Spokesman will also pull out of his drawer some old photos of buildings being blown up.

1:08 am: Incoming sirens for Nativ Ha’Asara and Karmia

12:36 am: Incoming missile sirens for Nir Oz.

12:13 am: Incoming missile sirens for Netiv Ha’Asara

11:45 pm Israel time (Tuesday)

11:45 pm: The IDF says that it is now “attacking” in Gaza. Of course, this is a joke. It has been more than 24 hours since the first missile in this latest mini-war was fired by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The IDF has now given the terrorists time to go completely underground, and has undoubtedly warned Hamas and Islamic Jihad about when and which empty buildings it will attack.

11:32 pm: Incoming missile sirens for the western Negev. These are the first missiles targeting Israel outside of the 20 km range in this current wave of missile attacks.

11:29 pm: Incoming missile sirens for Sderot, Nir Am.

9:30 pm Israel time

9:24 pm: Incoming missile sirens for Kissufim.

9:22 pm: Incoming missile sirens for Nirim and Sderot.

8:10 pm: Incoming missile sirens for the Kissufim area on the Gaza border.

8:00 pm: Update from Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. A total of 12 residents from Sderot brought to the hospital for treatment.

Update 8:30 pm Israel time

It has been another day of intense violence in Israel with shooting attacks on Israelis in Judea and Samaria and missiles and mortars fired by Palestinian terrorists at Gaza border communities resulting in civilian casualties.

Up until this moment, the Israeli response has been “no response.”

All Israel can muster so far is yet another "security assessment." Our non-responsive leaders (l-r): Defense Minister Galant, PM Netanyahu, IDF Chief of Staff Halevi.

Talking and talking while southern Israelis sit in bomb sheleters. All Israel can muster so far is yet another “security assessment.” Our non-responsive leaders (l-r): Defense Minister Galant, PM Netanyahu, IDF Chief of Staff Halevi.

OneIsrael will post continuing updates on the “situation.”

Here is some of what has happened in the last 15 hours (in reverse order):

7:12 pm: Palestinian terrorists fire 6 mortars at Israelis on the Gaza border. This fire came after the IDF spokesman absurdly said that it was safe for southern Israelis to return to their normal routines.

7:00 pm: To this point, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza have launched 36 missiles and mortars primarily at the area around Sderot.

Israel has launched at least 6 Iron Dome interceptors; 5 missed completely allowing 3 missiles to hit Sderot, and 2 more to hit surrounding communities.

7 people were evacuated from Sderot to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon including 1 in critical condition and 2 more in serious condition–all three foreign workers hit by shrapnel from an exploding missile. The other four were apparently injured running to their bomb shelters or are suffering from extreme trauma.

6:55 pm: Mayor of Sderot Alon Davidi to PM Netanyahu: “No more words. I call on the Prime Minister to eliminate the terror organizations completely.”

6:50 pm: Palestinian terrorists open fire on IDF engineers at the Pekoa Fence area.

4:06 pm: Missile strike on the Ashkelon Marina Area. A number of casualties reported. Still no further details at this hour.

4:03 pm: Missile strike in Sderot causes large fire–still burning on the outskirts of the city.

4:00 pm: Palestinian missile strike hits construction site in Sderot.

3:30 pm: Palestinian terrorists open fire on Israeli homes in Beit Hefer.

3:29 pm: Palestinians terrorist fire a volley of ten missiles at Sderot–just as children were leaving school. One car was hit, but miraculously a mother and child escaped physical wounding.

8:15 am: Palestinian terrorists opened fire on vehicles near Avnei Hefetz in Samaria southeast of Tulkarm. At least two cars were hit; the driver of one was shot and evacuated to a nearby hospital in Kfar Saba; the driver of another had to be treated for shock. The terrorists escaped.

11 pm (yesterday): Palestinian terrorists fired missiles at Sa’ad on the Gaza Border.
