The Photo/Ad of the Day

The quarter page ad on the front page of the Jerusalem Post this morning.

The quarter page ad on the front page of the Jerusalem Post this morning.

First, it is remarkable that the leftist Jerusalem Post ran this huge ad on its front page today. Second, it is about time that somebody called out Yair Lapid.

It is Lapid who is egregiously irresponsible.

It is Lapid who is fomenting both physical and verbal violence in the streets.

It is Lapid who is endangering our security on every front.

It is Lapid (along with Barak) who is encouraging soldiers not to serve.

Note the ad was paid for by Fighters for the IDF.

The News on the Israeli Street

The High Court of Justice Strikes Again . . .

In yet another absurd decision from the High Court of Justice yesterday, the Justices declared that they will hear a petition to disqualify PM Netanyahu from his office because of violating conflict of interest.

You may remember that Netanyahu said that he would not comment on the judicial reforms because it could eventually influence Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000 against him.

And so he has rarely said anything except to encourage the protesters to stop protesting.

But that is not enough for the leftists.

The price of milk drops . . .

In an effort to curb the cost of living, the Finance Ministry ordered all import duties on milk to be dropped.

That imported milk is 10% cheaper today than it was yesterday.

Babies babies and more babies.

Within the past 24 hours, 7 pairs of twins were born at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

Each year approximately 200 sets of twins are born there.

TODAY’S BLOG

Israel’s Utter Collapse On The Northern Border With Hezbollah

There is absolutely no doubt that Israel is at its weakest point ever with Hezbollah.

The collapse began years ago. First, we had then-PM Ehud Barak’s infamous middle of the night withdrawal of IDF forces from southern Lebanon in 2000, and six years later then-PM Ehud Olmert’s infamous end to the 2006 war which left Hezbollah still standing and still firing hundreds of missiles at us.

More recently, the collapse has accelerated.

1. In October 2022, Israel, led by then-PM Yair Lapid–signed away our rights to maritime territorial waters to Lebanon. If you recall, the primary reasoning was that by giving Lebanon what it wanted, Hezbollah would be thwarted and peace would reign in eastern Mediterranean.

Instead, Hezbollah immediately went on the offensive.

2. In March of this year, Hezbollah brazenly sent one of its terrorists into Israel. He then drove all the way down to Megiddo and even detonated IED charges along a road there wounding an Israeli driver.

How did the IDF respond to Hezbollah? By doing nothing.

3. In late May or early June (we still don’t know exactly when),  Hezbollah brazenly set up two military tent-outposts in Israel on Mt. Dov. Amazingly, the IDF did not respond except with threats and protests to the United Nations and elsewhere. The clear statement is that Israel is unwilling to defend its territory.

Just yesterday the head of the IDF intelligence division issued this absurd statement: “We are awake, determined and strong. Let no one be mistaken, we will do everything necessary to maintain peace on the northern border.” In fact, the IDF was totally asleep when Hezbollah set up the outposts and we outrageously prefer to let them remain in our territory because our main priority is not protecting our sovereign country but “maintaining peace.”

4. A week ago, Hezbollah fired anti-tank missiles from Lebanon into Israel. Again the IDF was asleep having no idea that missiles were even fired or where they landed until Hezbollah published photos of them. When the IDF finally figured out was was going on, it lobbed a few artillery shells toward what was presumed to be the launch site.

5. Last Wednesday, three Hezbollah terrorists detonated IEDs along the border fence.

6. Last Thursday, the IDF reported that “dozens of armed soldiers from the Lebanese army, as well as Hezbollah operatives, entered Israeli territory” near Manara. They eventually returned to Lebanon, but how did the IDF allow them to get as far as they did?

Simple. According the IDF, Israel “preferred to exercise caution.”

Yesterday, Lebanon and Hezbollah declared that of all the divided village of Ghajar, along with the Shebaa Farms area belong to Lebanon. They want to start negotiations to redraw the northern boundary between Israel and Lebanon.

Of course they do. After the maritime territory disaster and the obvious IDF weakness along the border, Lebanon and Hezbollah feel that the time is right for another territorial grab.

Shabbat Shalom!
