The Photos and Video of the Day

The anarchist anti-government leftists are becoming increasingly violent–especially toward anyone perceived as not on their side. The only conservative television channel in Israel, Channel 14, has seen a procession of their reporters attacked while trying to cover events.

Yesterday it was Channel 14 reporter Atti Shalev who was attacked at the Hashalom Train Station as he covered the “protest”:

Note how the anarchist comes from behind and grabs Shalev's shoulder.

Then he gets right in Shalev’s ear and screams at him:

This is what all reporters on Channel 14 face.

If you watch the entire video, you will note that some people came to Shalev’s aid. It is getting to the point that Channel 14 is going to have to hire bodyguards for its reporters.

Take a good look at the anarchist’s face in the second photograph. This is the face of the anti-government “democracy” movement here in Israel.

The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Judea and Samaria.

The government’s semi-annual report on terrorism was released yesterday covering the 180 day period from January 1-June 30.

5306 terror attacks (shootings, “rocks”, Molotovs, IEDs, stabbings, run-overs) took place–approximately 30 per day.

28 Israelis were murdered.

362 Israelis were seriously wounded.

Shooting attacks:

Palestinian terrorists fired on IDF soldiers operating in Bethlehem.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on our forces in Farah (click here to see a 14 second video).

IED, Molotov, and “rock” attacks:

Palestinian terrorists attacked security forces in Neilin, Dora al Qara, Azzun, Bidou, Doha, Dashisha, Hevron, and Tulkarm.

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli motorists at Al-Abud, Luban Al-Sharqiya, Hizma, Hawara, and at a dozen locations on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road.

The “reasonableness law” goes to the Knesset . . .

Following a super-marathon 19 hour session in which 2800 objections to the bill were voted down in groups of 20 objections at a time, the so-called “reasonableness law” passed out of the Constitution and Law Committee early this morning.

The next step is for the Knesset to approve the Law in the second and third readings on Sunday.

However, the bill can still be changed before Sunday’s scheduled vote with lefties galore demanding that Netanyahu “soften” the legislation by making it less applicable to various parties.

The Biden-Netanyahu phone call took place, but what said? . . .

It took less than 6 hours for disagreements to surface concerning what PM Netanyahu promised Biden.

To hear Biden’s version which appeared immediately after the call, Netanyahu promised a freeze: “no more outposts would be approved and no new housing units would be planned or built in the settlements before January 1.”

An hour later, PM Netanyahu’s office issued a statement denying that Netanyahu had promised anything of the sort.

Well, sort of . . .

Shortly after Netanyahu’s office statement, senior Likud leaders said that Netanyahu had agreed that no communities would be legalized beyond those already legalized, and no construction beyond the some 15,000 homes in Jewish communities already approved and under construction would be approved or built before January 1.

In short, to hear Netanyahu’s version there is no freeze on current construction; however, any decisions about new construction will be delayed for 5 months.

New Immigrants From 41 Countries Join The IDF!

A group of new soldiers.

A group of new soldiers.

Amidst all the news about who is going to refuse to serve in the IDF came wonderful news yesterday.

600 immigrants from 41 countries took the oath of allegiance at the Alon Base. They were joined by 75 Druze, Bedouins, Christians, Circassians and Muslims who also joined the IDF.

Proud new members of the IDF.

Proud new members of the IDF.

As part of their unique training, the 675 new soldiers underwent basic training in Hebrew language, Jewish heritage, knowledge of Israel, and Zionism. According to the IDF the main goal of their basic training was “to strengthen the trainees’ level of Hebrew and deepen the connection to the State of Israel and its culture.”

Another new soldier. Congratulations!

We end today’s blog with a hearty “Kolakevod” to our new soldiers!
