The Ministry of Defense and Israel Aerospace Industries launched Israel’s latest satellite early this morning. The satellite enhances Israel’s electro-optical observation capabilities; in short, it helps us keep an eye on our enemies.

As a personal aside, we were awakened by the roar of the rocket as it lifted off at 4 am.

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired “at least” two missiles into southern Israel at 7:10 pm yesterday evening:

The red pinpoints indicate what was targeted.

Your humble servant says “at least” because we only have a count from the residents on the ground. If it were up to the IDF, every incoming alert siren would be classified as a “false alarm.”

At 8:10 pm, almost exactly one hour later, Palestinian terrorists fired 4 more missiles into southern Israel striking in the area near Sderot:

As you can see, the missile targets were Israeli communities along the northern border with Gaza.

No one was physically wounded in any of these missile attacks, but who knows how many Israeli children, women, and men were traumatized?

According to the IDF, we responded to this missile fire by “attacking Hamas underground infrastructure”. This is code for “we bombed empty spaces.”

All your humble servant knows is that there was intense air activity over our house here in Ashdod from 10 pm-11 pm last night as planes headed toward Gaza.

The news from the neighborhood . . .

Israeli aircraft attacked another truck convoy northwest of Damascus last night–an Iranian weapons shipment headed to Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Elsewhere, Egyptian forces attacked Turkish forces in Libya yesterday. This development is not one to be overlooked or understated. Here you have two of the most heavily armed armies in the Middle East fighting each other over the situation in Libya.

Unfortunately, it appears that many Corona restrictions are about to be reinstated. Hotels will remain open–but perhaps can have only have 20 guests at a time. Restaurants can remain open–but perhaps may not be able to have indoor seating. We’ll know more after the Corona cabinet meets today.
