The Odd Gesture of Yesterday

PM Netanyahu finally got a chance to meet with President Biden (at the Intercontinental Hotel in Manhattan after Biden showed up 30 minutes late). Netanyahu began by mentioning that he has known Biden for 40 years. Click here to watch a 12 second video in which you see Biden’s response.

Why Biden would “cross” himself in response to Netanyahu’s statement is anyone’s guess, but it seemed oddly inappropriate to your humble servant.

Netanyahu Was Correct, Obviously

The signage carried by Israeli and Palestinian protesters outside the Intercontinental Hotel yesterday as Netanyahu and Biden were meeting confirmed everything that Netanyahu said before leaving Israel about the protesters joining forces with the PLO and other anti-Israel entities.

A sample of the signs which appeared alongside Israeli and PLO flags:

“The State of Israel does not represent world Jewry”

“Biden Don’t Whitewash Netanyahu’s Coup”

“The state of Israel and its aggressions are forbidden by the Torah”

“From the river to the sea, democracy for all”

The last one–from the river to the sea– is a call for the elimination of Israel under the guise of democracy.

Your humble servant could only feel anger and shame at the Israelis protesting in New York.

The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Tel Aviv, Judea, Samaria, and on the Gaza Border.

Stabbing attack: A stabbing attack was thwarted at the Tel Aviv Savidor Train Station yesterday when police officers noticed a person with a suspicious bag. The suspicious person turned out to be a Palestinian from Gaza who was here legallybecause of a work permit issued for “humanitarian” reasons by the government.

This is what he had in his bag:

Hidden in his bag which he was trying to cover up was this butcher knife.

Hidden in his bag which he was trying to cover up was this butcher knife. You may remember that we queried here at OneIsrael how long it would be before a “worker” from Gaza tried to murder Israelis.

Another thwarted stabbing attack: this morning another Gazan Palestinian–this one armed with two knives–was captured at the entrance to the central station in Tel Aviv:

The two knives carried by the terrorist this morning.

The two knives carried by the terrorist this morning.

 Shooting attacks:

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers at the Dotan Checkpoint southwest of Jenin.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on Israeli soldiers in Aqbat Jaber.

IED, “rock”, and Molotov attacks:

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis in Kfar Katana, on the Jerusalem-Gush Etzion Road near Al-Khader, Oja, on Road 55 at the Nebi Elias Bypass, Hawara, on Road 465 at Umm Safa, on Road 446 south of Antennas, and at some 30 other locations.

Netanyahu’s dangerous quid pro quo with Turkish President Erdogan . . .

Turkish President Erdogan proclaimed this after his meeting on the sidelines at the U.N. with Netanyahu: “After PM Netanyahu visits Turkey, I plan to visit Israel soon and to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. This is my right and obligation as a Muslim.”

So, Netanyahu gets to go to Turkey, Erdogan to Jerusalem. Lest we forget, the viciously anti-Semitic Erdogan still would like to see Turkish hegemony in Jerusalem as he tries to reconstruct the Ottoman Empire–and is funding all sorts of projects in eastern Jerusalem to spread his tentacles into the city. That Netanyahu would sign off on an Erdogan visit to Jerusalem and Al Aqsa is appalling.

In business news . . .

Israeli start-up companies continue to be sold at a rapid rate.

The latest is Talon Cyber Security which developed a secure corporate browser. It employs 130 people in Israel and the U.S. Its founders came from the famed IDF 8200 unit.

Its purchase by Palo Alto Networks was confirmed yesterday at a price of $600 million dollars.

Two days ago the Israeli cyber security company Bionic was sold to Crowdstrike for $350 million. The founders of Bionic also came out of the 8200 unit.

TODAY’S BLOG

Business (aka “Nonsense”) As Usual At The U.N. Yesterday

The horse manure was being furiously shoveled in all directions at the United Nations yesterday so much so that your humble servant hardly knows where to begin.

So why don’t we start with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who proclaimed to the adoring audience that Iran really did not kick out all the IAEA inspectors of its nuclear weapons program last week. No, according to the shoveling Raisi, Iran only got rid of some of the inspectors that it accused of behaving poorly.  What he didn’t say was that Iran has now forbidden any inspectors who have anything to do with uranium refinement to visit its nuclear sites anymore.

From Raisi, let’s move to Saudi Prince Bin Salman who proclaimed in an interview with American television, that “normalization” with Israel manufactured by the Biden Administration is moving closer. When asked what it would take for normalization to take place, the ever unctuous prince oozed that the Saudis would have to see a better life for the Palestinians. What does a better life mean? Salman didn’t say but this is what the Saudis have said all along: no normalization without a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

From there, let’s turn to Netanyahu himself who met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres–a secretary general who never miss an opportunity to castigate Israel. Netanyahu told him “The time has come for the UN to condemn Iran’s subversion, Palestinian terrorism against innocent civilians, and cease its unfounded criticism of Israel.”

Talk about shoveling horse manure.

Your humble servant has only one thing to say about Netanyahu’s statement:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The idea that the U.N. will condemn Iran, condemn Palestinian terror, and stop criticizing Israel is just plain laughable.

And so it went at the U.N. yesterday with business (aka “nonsense”) as usual.
