A forest eagle: this beautiful bird with a 2 meter wingspan regularly inhabits the forested areas of central and eastern Europe.

But today, because of recent weather systems in the Mediterranean basin that have disrupted their usual migratory route,  50,000 forest eagles will fly over Israel on their way to their winter homes in sub-Saharan Africa.

According to Dr. Yoav Perlman, director of Israel’s Ornithology Center at the Society for the Protection of Nature, the birds will travel over Lebanon into northern Israel and from there “through the southern lowlands, to the Negev and Sinai.”

By the way, these 50,000 are half of the entire population of forest eagles in the world–a population rapidly dwindling because of illegal hunting in Lebanon as they pass over.

The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Judea and Samaria.

During an operation in Shechem, an IDF bulldozer was hit with Molotovs and caught fire. Click here to see an 18 second video of what happened. No Israelis were wounded in the attacks you see on the video.

Shooting attacks:

See today’s blog below.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF troops in Shofa near Tulkarm. No Israelis were wounded. 2 terrorists were killed.

Palestinian terrorists fired on Jewish homes in Ofra. No Israelis were wounded.

2 Palestinian terrorists on a motorcycle opened fire on IDF soldiers at the Avni Hefetz Junction. No Israelis were wounded. 1 terrorist was killed; the other critically wounded.

IED, Molotov, “rock” attacks:

The attack at Ma'ale Levona. The murder of the driver and his wife (whom you see) was narrowly averted when the husband took out his gun and began firing at the terrorists.

The attack at Ma’ale Levona. The murder of the husband/driver and his wife (whom you see) was narrowly averted when the husband took out his gun and began firing at the terrorists.

Palestinian terrorists tried to murder Israelis near Buna, Hawara (the IDF closed the road through Hawara for three hours because of the intense attacks), Azzun, Al Abud, Peduel, and at numerous places along Road 60.

Run-over attack:

Palestinian terrorists tried to run over Israelis at Singil.  No Israelis were wounded. The terrorists escaped.

Sukkot prayers on the Temple Mount . . .

The remarkable return of Jewish prayer to the Temple Mount continues.

In the past few days, 4260 Jews have ascended the Mount to pray Sukkot prayers at exactly the same location where your humble servant filmed them last week.

Kolakevod to our government for changing the rules on the Mount (hopefully permanently).

Another Bidenite absurdity in Washington . . .

One of the leaders of the anti-government movement here, Benny Gantzwho thankfully has no current connection to the Israeli government whatsoeverwas invited to Washington this week to meet with Biden Administration officials at the White House.

Yes, you read that correctly. Invited to the White House where PM Netanyahu has yet to be invited to.

Yesterday, Gantz met with Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. Supposedly, the two discussed “advancing Israel’s essential security interests, expanding its integration in the region, and dealing with the Iranian threat and Iran’s proxies in the Middle East.”

In reality, they almost certainly explored ways to undermine the Netanyahu Coalition.

Is there anything more pathetic than the Biden Administration’s efforts to discredit our prime minister and to bolster those trying to overthrow his government?

TODAY’S BLOG

The Attack in Tulkarm

Reports remain sketchy at this hour, but it has been confirmed that at least 5 Israeli Border Guards have been wounded in Tulkarm.

The Guards were hit by grenades as they exited the scene of a firefight.

Three of the Guards are in critical condition; 2 are in moderate condition.

This marks the 3rd time in recent months that soldiers have been killed or wounded at the conclusion of a counter-terror operation in Judea and Samaria.

More information will come as it is available.

Meanwhile our prayers are with our wounded soldiers.
