The News on the Israeli Street

It has been another rough day on the Gaza border despite the fact that a diminished number of terrorists turned out.

Whereas Hamas again expected upwards of 100,000 “protesters” at the fence, somewhere between 5-10,000 actually showed up. These were spread out at five locations along the fence.

Israeli forces were attacked with pipe bombs, IEDs, kites carrying explosives, an RPG, “rocks”, Molotovs and other weapons.

As much as possible, soldiers tried to hold the terrorists back with tear gas. Here are some pictures of the day:

This terrorist was rushing the fence when he got hit by a tear gas canister which lodged in his face:

The Molotov kite brigade:

The kites being used today are more like kite drones. Each of the kites above can be remotely detonated as soon as they fly into Israel.

As of this hour (11 pm), four Hamas terrorists have been reported killed.

If you can believe this . . .

The terrorism on the Gaza border has now been going on for almost two months. Last week more than 200 missiles and mortars were fired into southern Israel.

So what did the IDF General Command announce a few hours ago?

That the Iron Dome system will now be “deployed to the maximum extent” along the Gaza border.

Why in the world wasn’t it deployed to the maximum extent before now?

Meanwhile back at the United Flatellations . . .

Five more countries were elected today for two-year terms on the Security Council: Germany, Belgium, South Africa, Indonesia, and the Dominican Republic. At least 4 of these countries can be counted on to trash Israel at every opportunity; only the Dominican Republic can be counted on as a friend.

In other words, nothing will change.

As for the Israeli economy . . .

The Central Bureau of Statistics reported today that:

*the average monthly wage in Israel in March was an all-time high of 10,867 shekels ($3052).

*the average monthly wage of a high-tech worker also rose to 21,542 shekels ($6025).

TODAY’S BLOG:

Iran Steps To The Forefront In Gaza

Of course we all know that the terrorism emanating from Palestinian Gaza is being largely funded by Iran.

But until yesterday, the knowledge of this funding was largely anecdotal. Now it is out in the open.

To begin with, Revolutionary Guards deputy chief Hossein Salami announced yesterday that the missiles fired at Israel in the latest outbreak the other day all came from Iran.

Then came the announcement that Iran is distributing $500 to the families of every Palestinian who has been “martyred” and will be martyred at the Gaza border.

And insofar as the demonstrations today are concerned, Iran is paying 50 shekels to everyone who will get on a bus and go and try to breach the Israeli border.
