Photos of the Night:

Two photos from the Kotel last night as more than 100,000 worshipers crowded into the plaza:

It was difficult to reach the Wall because of so many worshipers.

The Quote of the Day:

“The racist government has made our blood run wild.”

Ayman Odeh, Head of the Joint Arab List–the Israeli-Arab group which is supporting Benny Gantz’s Kahol Levan Party.

Odeh was laying the blame for the surge in Israeli-Arab violence on the government. This is Israeli-Arab violence in the form of shootings and stabbings that is directed at other Israeli-Arabs. Criminal gangs murdering people in the street, and families murdering daughters and sisters in so-called “honor killings” have nothing to do with the government.

Just like the Palestinians who never shoulder responsibility for anything (except terror), Israeli-Arabs also avoid responsibility for any of their actions.

The racist government makes our blood run wild? What kind of nonsense is this?

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists targeted Israelis on Road 55 near Azzun (one man was wounded), at Beit Anun, Sinjil, on Road 446 near the abandoned quarry, beside Kiryat Arba, at Shilo, just outside of Ramallah, in Al-Khubar, at the Shalom Synagogue in Jericho, at Har Gilo, at Deir Abu Mash’al, and at numerous other locations.

Is the election over? . . .

The United Torah Judaism UTJ Party has decided to challenge the results of the election three weeks ago.

More specifically, the Party is appealing the fact that it lost one mandate to Likud after the election because of a non-count of polling stations at which forged votes were submitted.

United Torah Judaism apparently lost that one mandate because of 68 votes.

Interestingly, we still haven’t heard anything from the Election Commission about how many votes equaled one mandate. Perhaps UTJ’s challenge will reveal that fact.

TODAY’S BLOG:

3.17

According to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, 3.17 was the “total fertility rate” of Jewish women in Israel in 2018. Total fertility rate means the average number of children a woman will have in her lifetime.

How does this number translate into actual births?

134,630 children, 73.3% of the total number of live births in Israel, were born to Jewish mothers in 2018.

By comparison, 72.6% of all live births in Israel were Jewish in 2010. Only 67.4% were Jewish in 2000.

How does all of this compare to the number of children born to Israeli-Arab women (Muslim, Christian, and Druze)?

43,268 children, 23.5% of the total number of live births in Israel, were born to Israeli-Arab mothers in 2018.

By comparison, 24.5% of all live births in Israel were Israeli-Arab in 2010. 29.9% were Israeli-Arab in 2000.

Interestingly, by region, the highest fertility rates for Jewish women were Judea and Samaria (4.89); Jerusalem (3.97); and southern Israel (3.59). The lowest rates were the Tel Aviv area (2.63) and Haifa (2.52).

So what do all of these numbers mean?

The results are remarkable.

There is no “demographic time bomb” within Israel (including Area C of Judea and Samaria).

If current rates remain the same, the percentage of Israelis who are Jewish is only going to rise while the percentage of those who are Israeli-Arabs is only going to decline.
