Quote of the Day

“Let us not be preached that the president must immediately recognize preliminary results by those people who have not yet recognized the results of the previous election.”

Mitch McConnell, Senate Republican Majority Leader

How true. There are still nothing more than preliminary election results with major legal challenges addressing what appears to be major fraud in several states in which the vote was very close.

And how bizarre is it that the very people such as Biden who have spent the last 4 years questioning the legitimacy of President Trump’s election even to the point of impeaching him, now ask President Trump to willy nilly accept the preliminary results of the election, embrace Joe Biden as the president-elect, and begin to unify the country.

It is beyond absurd.

As Senator Ted Cruz remarked yesterday, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, The New York Times and The Washington Post do not choose who is president, the people of the United States do– through their legal votes.

By the way, one of the major non-partisan political websites, Real Clear Politics, has yet to call the race for Biden:

Note the electoral votes projected for Biden and Trump. Real Clear Politics is no longer projecting Biden as the President-elect. Of course, this could change at any moment.

A screen shot from the Real Clear Politics website (this morning at 8 am Israel time). Note the electoral votes projected for Biden (259) and Trump (214). Real Clear Politics is still not projecting Biden as the President-elect. Of course, this could change at any moment.

The Pathetic Change On The Temple Mount

As you may not know, by order of the Islamic Wakf and the acquiescence of the Israel Police and government, Jews are only permitted on the Har HaBeit (Temple Mount) in Jerusalem for 4 hours a day 5 days a week.

In other words, Jews can only go to the holiest place in Judaism for 20 hours a week.

Yes, you read that correctly.

20 hours out of 172 hours a week. To a Jewish place which is supposed to be under Israeli sovereignty.

More specifically, these 20 hours are allotted as follows from October through March:

On Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, Jews can visit the Mount from 7:30 am-10:30 am, and from 12:30 pm-1:30 pm.

In this context, consider this joyful announcement that appeared yesterday:

Yesterday's announcement.

Yesterday’s announcement.

The announcement is that Jews can now come to the Mount for an extra 30 minutes (5 days a week)–a total of 2.5 hours more a week.

For this, the announcement says that we should rejoice!

Seriously?

This is cause for rejoicing?

Your humble servant thinks not. The Temple Mount should be open 24 hours a day seven days a week for Jews just as it is for Muslims.

Anything otherwise is nothing but pure and simple discrimination. In our own country.

Pathetic.
