The War Rages On . . . Continuous Updates

UPDATES 6 pm Israel Time

It has been 10 hours since our last update. What has happened since 8 am this morning?

Intense missile barrages have continued all day focused on Ashdod, Beersheva, and the area around Sderot. Officially, more than 1000 missiles have been fired into southern Israel; the non-official total (which is more accurate) is between 1200-1300.

It is being reported that Hamas and Islamic Jihad will made a joint announcement in the coming hour that they will mount new attacks against Haifa and Eilat.

IDF Staff Sgt. Omer Tabib was killed this morning while patrolling Netiv HaAsara on the Gaza border. His jeep was hit by an anti-tank missile fired from Gaza. Omer, 21-years-old, was a fighter in the 931st Battalion of the Nahal Brigade.

May his memory be for a blessing.

Israel is now actively engaged in targeted attacks on Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials. This is a list of the recently killed:

Bassam Issa: Gaza City Brig. General

Jamaa Tahla: Head of the Hamas Missile Improvement Project and Hamas Cyber Network

Gamal Zabda: Head of Hamas’ Project and Development Division

Khazem Khatib: Head Hamas Engineering Department

Sami Radwan: Head of the Hamas Technical Department

Walid Shamali: Head of Industrial Equipment Department

At least 10 other terrorists from Hamas’ Research and Development Division

In addition, the brother of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was just killed.

UPDATES 8 am Israel Time

A total of 5 Israelis and one worker from India have been killed by missile fire:

a 16 year old Israeli-Arab girl and her 50 year old father were killed when a missile hit their car in the Arab village of Dahmash

a 67 year old woman died of a heart attack while being taken to Assaf Harofe Hospital while suffering trauma from a missile that struck near her home

a 50-year-old woman died after a missile strike in Rishon LeZion

an Indian caretaker in her 60s was killed in Ashkelon

a woman in her 80’s was killed in Ashkelon

Thus far, it is officially reported that 850 missiles have been fired into Israel.  Here at OneIsrael, we believe that a more accurate number is between 1000-1050. Another 200 missiles were fired at southern Israel that didn’t make it out of Gaza.

During the night, the IDF has been targeting the heads of the terror organizations in Gaza–specifically numbers 2 and 3 in each. In addition, Israel is blowing up the homes of each.

UPDATES 4:00 am Israel Time

Massive missile barrages continue. In the last hour, Tel Aviv, Beersheva, Dimona, Ashdod, Ashkelon, and dozens of other locations have been hit.

Officially, “more than 600” missiles have struck central and southern Israel. Unofficially, the resident count is between 800-900. More than 350 missiles have been launched since 3 am.

The barrages have been intense with more than 100 missiles at a time targeting cities like Tel Aviv and Ashdod.

At least three Israelis have been killed in missile explosions along with a 33-year-old Indian caregiver. A number of Israelis are in critical condition including a three year old girl, and a bus driver whose empty (thankfully) bus went up in flames in Holon when hit by a missile.

The violence in Israeli-Arab majority cities has been intense with Jews coming under attack in such places as Lod, Jaffa, Rahat, Umm al Fahm, and Akko (where the famed Uri Buri restaurant was burned down).

Lod in particular has descended into such a state of anarchy that Border Police have been taken off assignments in Judea and Samaria and are now patrolling the streets. PM Netanyahu has declared a state of emergency in the city.

Ben Gurion Airport has just been targeted again–and has been closed off and on for the last few hours.

Israel continues targeting terrorists in Gaza though no new details are being given out. Several large apartment buildings that were home to terrorists were leveled (after the residents received an advance warning).
