The War Intensifies: Continuous Updates

UPDATES 11:00 PM FRIDAY

It may be wishful thinking, but it seems like the intensity of missile strikes from Gaza has slightly decreased (as soon as your humble servant writes this, it will increase again). They are still occurring at the same pace of about 10 barrages per hour, but the targets seem to be more concentrated around Gaza, and the barrages involve fewer missiles.

About 2800 missiles have now been fired at southern Israel.

It is reported that 12 members of the Nujaba terror group who were killed have been taken to the basement of the Shifa Hospital where Hamas is apparently keeping the bodies of all of its “martyrs” under lock and key. The Nujaba group is an Iraqi Shiite group which is a proxy of Iran. They have been in Gaza for years.

By the way, Hamas’ main headquarters are under the basement of the Shifa Hospital.

Elsewhere:

There have been violent riots throughout Judea and Samaria today. 11 terrorists have been killed while attacking our troops.

A Hezbollah “operative” who was part of a pro-Palestinian demonstration on the Lebanese border near Metulla–and cut through the border fence and entered Israel–has been shot and killed by IDF troops.

The Tahrir Palestinian Brigades fired three missiles into Israel from Syria.

By the way, there are a mounting number of missile attacks for which there are no warning sirens.

Damage in Gaza:

There are reports of Palestinians in northern Gaza fleeing to central Gaza to escape the destruction that is happening. Many Palestinians are going to UNRWA compounds to avoid the bombing. Here is a video that shows the result of several IAF attacks:

MADA in action:

We can’t say enough about Israel’s emergency paramedic services which are on the spot at every missile explosion to help the wounded. But also, during war, MADA provides other services such as taking milk (via the MADA Dairy Bank) to women who have had babies prematurely (during missile attacks there are more premature babies born). Here is a photo today of a MADA volunteer doing just that:

The last three hours have seen some of the most dramatic Israeli attacks on Palestinian terrorists in Gaza for years. A Hamas spokesman just declared that Israel’s purpose now is “to wreak havoc and destruction.”

Perhaps that is true, and if it is, we at OneIsrael only have one thing to say: “Bravo to the IDF and keep up the good work.”

The IDF spokesman has just ordered all Israeli residents living within 4 km of the border to remain in their bomb shelters for the next 5 hours to protect themselves from possible mortar attacks.

Whatever havoc and destruction is being wrought, missiles continue being launched out of Gaza at the rate of more than 100 per hourbringing to more than 2400 that have now been fired.

The two cities bearing the brunt of the attacks at the moment are Ashkelon and Ashdod. A 60-year-old critically wounded man was just pulled out of the rubble of a building in Ashkelon.

More video from Ashkelon.

IDF artillery and Israeli naval shelling are heavily engaged in the fight now with echoes from their shells being heard as far north as Tel Aviv.

For one of the first time since this war began we have a medical report from MADA–this from one hour ago:

–7 Israelis have been killed since the war began. 5 are in critical condition.

–Since the beginning of the missile fire, MADA paramedics have treated 523 wounded.

–41 Israelis have been wounded since this morning–18 of these were wounded while running to their bomb shelter. An 87-year-old woman trying to make it to a bomb shelter was killed.
