The Friday Poll

This Friday’s poll is from the Ma’ariv newspaper:

Not much has changed.

Not much has changed.

The only difference in the previous week’s poll is that the Netanyahu bloc (Likud, National Zionist, Shas, United Torah Judaism) is at 59–a decrease of two seats. You will also notice that Yamina is at the bottom (1.9%), not even reaching the threshold to receive 4 seats.

It is still 103 days until the election on November 1–but the above will not change very much unless something dramatic happens.

The News on the Israeli Street

 Today’s Corona update . . .

6,195 Israelis tested positive yesterday (out of 25,358 tested) bringing to 69,993 the number of active patients in the country.

The positive test rate was 24.43%; the coefficient of infection was 0.84%.

378 Israelis are seriously ill; 104 are critically ill90 of these are on ventilators.

11,209 have died.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists using “rocks”, Molotovs, and IEDs attacked Israelis between Giti Avishar and Ariel, on Road 465 near Umm Safa, between the Jit Junction and Yitzhar, and at many other places.

A carload of terrorists on their way to an attack was somewhat miraculously captured near Gilad when their car stalled and they were spotted by security personnel.

Israel continues to attack Iran in Syria . . .

A number of Iranian targets were hit in the suburbs of Damascus early this morning including an Iranian weapons depot in the a-Saida Zainab neighborhood, and a security checkpoint near Al-Masse Airport.

According to the Syrians, 3 Syrian soldiers were killed and 7 were wounded.

Update on the Nachala efforts yesterday . . .

Unfortunately but as expected, the IDF and Border Police have destroyed all six of the new communities that Nachala attempted to establish yesterday.

However, Nachala leader Daniela Weiss expressed optimism that the fact that 10,000 young people participated in the effort was a positive step for future efforts by the organization.

The simple fact is that until our odious “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz and equally odious Minister of Homeland Security Omer Bar Lev are replaced by a new government, illegal Palestinian settlements will continue to be built at a rapid pace while young Jewish communities are razed.

The skyrocketing cost of living . . .

New statistics released today show that for an average family with two parents and two children, the cost of living has increased by 768 shekels per month since January 1 of this year (an annual increase of 9,216 shekels–$2,671).

This monthly increase is just based on increases in the price of groceries (120 shekels), fuel (383 shekels) water and electricity (20 shekels), and mortgage (245 shekels). It does not even include such things as clothes, school supplies, cinema tickets, restaurant meals and a plethora of other items.

TODAY’S BLOG:

I could literally imagine her in the audience today, excited and crying.”

Such a bright and wonderful light was taken from us.

Such a bright and wonderful light was taken from us.

Time passes so quickly. It has already been three years since the hideous attack on the Shnerb family at the Dolev Spring.

Rina and Dvir shortly before the bomb blast that killed her.

Rina and Dvir shortly before the bomb blast that killed her.

You may remember that in that attack Rina Shnerb was blown apart by a remotely detonated bomb and her brother Dvir and her father were badly wounded.

Yesterday, after a long rehabilitation her brother received his Army pin along with other new soldiers in 1st Battalion.

Dvir Shnerb yesterday. Kolakevod to him!

Dvir Shnerb yesterday. Kolakevod to him!

Dvir had this to say: “Rina was very much waiting for me to enlist and talked a lot about the army, I could literally imagine her in the audience today, excited and crying. She wanted to experience a lot of things that she did not–and I give her a place in my life so that she might experience them through me.”

Shabbat Shalom from Israel!
