Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

TODAY’S BLOG

Support Nachala!

Let us recap for a moment the current situation in Area C of Judea and Samaria–an Area that comprises 60% of the land of Judea and Samaria, and an area which was established in the Oslo Accords as being under the administrative and military control of Israel.

More than 450,000 Jews now live in Area C–Jewish community members who are reclaiming our ancestral and biblical homeland. However, all but the most minimal Jewish construction in this area has been frozen by successive Israeli governments including those of Netanyahu, Bennett, and now Lapid.

However, while this freeze has been taking place, the PLO has been busy building houses, roads, and infrastructure in Area C–all of it illegally and most of it financed by the European Union. And while each Israeli government has been hell-bent on destroying new Jewish communities, no government has acted to eliminate the illegal Palestinian construction.

Now, the situation has markedly worsened. As of the recent visit by President Biden, Israel announced that it would not only legalize “illegal” Palestinian buildings, it would create 6 new building zones in Area C for Palestinian construction. In short, these actions are nothing more than a wholesale giveaway of our ancestral heartland.

Enter Nachala.

Nachala’s mission, as written on its Facebook page, is clear:

*Nachala aims at enhancing settlement and educational Zionist goals.

*Nachala organizes groups of young couples whose goal is to establish new communities in Judea and Samaria. Each group is composed of 15-25 families and they intend to settle . . .  locations (from north Samaria to southern Judea).

This past week Nachala announced its intention to set up between 6 to 9 new Jewish communities in Area C.

Nachala issued this call to action as well as directions on how to behave to their supporters yesterday:

Today we have all gone to three new points in Samaria, Benjamin and Judea, with a basic and just demand for state settlement and the establishment of new settlements. It is important to know, we are going to the land belonging to the State of Israel and together we will raise the question: Why are Jews forbidden and Arabs allowed?

1. IDF soldiers are our brothers – there will be no confrontation with soldiers and police. Our demand is solely to the government.

2. There will be no clashes with Arabs – for this we have an army that guards and security teams of the settlements and nuclei when necessary, not to disturb them.

3. There will be is no confrontation with [leftist] anarchists who come to make violence, the IDF is responsible for the separation, we are dealing with a lot of light and love for the country.

4. It is very important to listen to the instructions of those in charge in the field.

5. Flexibility: many of the decisions are made in the field, come with an open mind and prepare for the possibility of staying at checkpoints.

6. Sharing: share the activity with your family and friends, the people of Israel love the country and the workers for it. Also share what is happening in the various media and social networks.

7. Get ready for a long stay – feel free to use the kits, food and water for the first 24 hours – important! Significant change is brought about by the power of perseverance and tenacity.

8. Outside of Judea and Samaria: Those who will not be at the sites themselves can create and attend support rallies around the country that will be able to organize things that will help the public in the field, with food and transportation and more.

9. Support rallies – very important! Even two people who want to support and are unable to enter the area can go out to the intersection closest to their home with the Israeli flag and a support sign that reads: “We love you, Eretz Israel!”

You would have thought that the Nachala statement was a declaration of war. The Police and the IDF issued this joint statement:

The establishment of outposts in Judea and Samaria that is not in accordance with the processes and approvals required by law and against the law – is illegal and prohibited.

Following the announcement of the political echelon, the IDF, the Israel Police, the Border Police and the security forces are preparing on the roads, checkpoints, and key points in the Judea and Samaria area to maintain security and law and order in the area.

Dedicated task forces will act in order to prevent any illegal activity and in order to carry out the main task, preventing and thwarting terrorism.

Your humble servant wonders where the IDF, Israel Police, Border Police, and security forces been throughout the ongoing illegal attempt by the PLO to take over the land during the last few years?

The answer: nowhere to be seen.

The left-wing in Israel has been even more vicious today. The following statement came from Knesset Legislator Gabi Lasky of Meretz on Radio FM 103 this morning: “These [Nahalim] are criminals, they actually persuaded children to commit crimes. Across the Green Line, there is no Zionism; the outposts in Judea and Samaria are illegal. . . It is a robbery, an occupation, a contravention of international law.”

What bull crap.

So what has happened in the last 24 hours?

The police, border police, and IDF have set up dozens of roadblocks, checkpoints, and physical barriers to try to stop Nachala members and supporters from reaching the new community sites.

The security forces doing all they can to thwart new Jewish communities.

The security forces are doing all they can to thwart new Jewish communities–even to the point of confiscating water bottles from those passing through.

They have largely failed.

Men, women, and children walking overland to a new site.

Men, women, and children walking overland to a new site. What a violent looking group of people (NOT).

Another “extremely violent” looking group:

Ramshackle buildings, campfires, and tents--this is what our security forces are intent on destroying.

Ramshackle buildings, campfires, and tents–this is what our security forces are intent on destroying. This is in Wadi Susa near Baruchin.

Nachala’s call for peace has been answered by violence from security forces.

There are numerous reports of young people with broken jaws and fractured limbs being taken to nearby clinics and hospitals. Yossi Dagan, the head of the Yesha Council in Judea and Samaria issued this statement in the last few hours:

“Terrorism all over the country, and the government is busy throughout the afternoon abusing hundreds of thousands of residents of Judea and Samaria and blocking the roads in an unprecedented way. And now this severe violence against teenagers who want to settle the country. The responsibility for the violence lies with Prime Minister Yair Lapid.”

Your humble servant has nothing but respect for Nachala–and hopefully the country will back them as well. Here is one last group of photos of supporters on the Shipman Bridge in Tel Aviv today:
