The News on the Israeli Street

The Middle East is drying up . . .

Just in the last week:

Water shortages in Iran have caused widespread demonstrations. The level of Iran’s largest lake has dropped precipitously.

This morning Iraq pleaded with Turkey to release more water from the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The problem: Turkey is in the middle of a drought itself.

Earlier this week, Jordan announced that it is out of water, and wants to buy more water from Israel. Almost 50% of the water that Jordan has is used by farmers.

The only good news is that there is no water shortage here in Israel thanks to all of the desalination plants that the government has built over the years. Even more are planned in the coming 5 years.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists attacked motorists with “rocks”, Molotovs, and IEDs between Hatmar Shomron Square and the large Yitzhar Junction, near Einbus Square, at Gilead Farm (man wounded), between Ariel and Tapuach, near Marda (woman wounded), on the Hosan Bypass between El Khader and the Beitar Junction, and at Shechem.

IDF forces captured 7 terrorists overnight in Beit Fajjar, Daheisha, Kotsa, and Beit Deko.

Israel Police arrested a Hamas operative in Jerusalem who has attempted to open a kindergarten for the purpose of laundering money, distributing PLO flags, and setting up Hamas operation in the city. The funds for the operative’s activities come from Turkey.

Today’s Corona update . . .

5,630 Israelis tested positive yesterday (out of 29,695 tested) bringing to 54,076 the number of active patients in the country.

The positive test rate was 18.96%; the coefficient of infection was 0.78%.

370 Israelis are seriously ill107 are critically ill96 of these are on ventilators.

11,334 have died–34 since yesterday.

What can you say? The positive test rate is under 20% for the first time in recent memory and the coefficient of infection continues to drop. And yet, more Israelis are dying of Corona each day.

 TODAY’S BLOG

The Arrests, Beatings, Whippings, and Torture of Palestinians

Please note that Today’s Blog is a shortened form of an article written for the Jerusalem Post by human rights activist Emily Schrader

The world relishes looking at photos like the one above so that it can rush to condemn Israel for alleged atrocities against the Palestinians.

However, all is not what it seems.

The following was written by human rights activist Emily Schrader:

“Once arrested, Palestinians in the West Bank may face physical beatings, solitary confinement, the whipping of feet, forced confessions, stress positions for prolonged periods of time, inhumane prison conditions and more. The Independent Commission Human Rights (ICHR) received 252 complaints of torture and 279 of arbitrary arrest in the West Bank in 2021 alone.”

Again, the world has been so brainwashed that everyone would think that Schrader is writing about Israeli arrests, beatings, whipping, torture, and arbitrary arrests.

But no. Schrader’s article, entitled “The War on Palestinians” is about Palestinians waging war on Palestinians.

Those arrests, beatings, whipping, torture, and arbitrary arrests are being carried out by the PLO against Palestinians. The white helmeted police in the photo are PLO police.

Shrader continues:

“In Gaza, Palestinians fare even worse. The terrorist organization Hamas is known for their draconian punishments and hardline Islamist positions. They have publicly executed dozens of collaborators with Israel, without any sort of due process, and they routinely bully, arrest and harm Palestinians who don’t fall in line with their terrorist agenda. They have also executed some of their own members for being gay and who can forget that they have started three wars with Israel in recent years resulting in a catastrophic humanitarian situation for the people of Gaza, all while their leaders enjoy a luxury life, in many cases, abroad.”

Schrader’s article in the Jerusalem Post should make all the human rights activists around the world think twice before they condemn Israel.

But it won’t.
