As regular readers of OneIsrael know, we do not publish a blog on Shabbat but instead photos and videos for you to peruse.

A surprise in Haifa harbor today.

A surprise in Haifa harbor today.

A Turkish destroyer, TCG Kemalreis F247, docked in Haifa today as part of a NATO related operation. The Turkish sailors were able to disembark, but not enter Israel because they did not have passports. This is the first Turkish naval vessel to come to Israel since Erdogan has been in power.

The Israel women's volleyball team.

The Israel women’s volleyball team.

Yesterday the team made into the European Championship quarterfinals–the highest it has ever reached. The team will probably meet Greece in their next match. Good luck!

The route of El Al yesterday on its way to South Africa.

The route of El Al 53 yesterday on its way to South Africa.

What was special about this flight? For the first time, the El Al plane flew over Saudi Arabia (as you can see in the graphic).

Member of the Otzma Yehudi (Jewish Power) protesting at the Tomb of Samuel yesterday.

Member of the Otzma Yehudi (Jewish Power) protesting at the Tomb of Samuel yesterday.

Why were they protesting? Because of the violent attacks against Jewish worshipers at and around the Samuel’s Tomb this past week. If you can believe this, even though the Tomb is in Area C, the Israeli police refused to allow them to carry Israeli flags into the Tomb compound.

And so it goes in Israel on this Shabbat.

Shabbat Shalom!
