The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Jerusalem and Judea:

In Jerusalem:

It only took three days of Ramadan before a terror attack occurred at the Temple Mount. An Israeli-Arab Bedouin who self-identifies as a Palestinian wrestled away the gun of a Border Policeman just inside the Chain Gate entrance to/exit from the Mount. He managed to fire 2 shots at female Border Guards nearby as the Border Policeman tried to choke him.

Finally, he got his gun back and together with another Border Policeman shot and killed the attacker. The terrorist was a 26-year old doctor who had studied in Romania and was back in Israel to get his visa renewed. He came from the same Bedouin town of Hora which has produced numerous terrorists in the past including ones who have murdered Israelis in Beersheva.

This is the last tweet the terrorist posted before carrying out the attack–obviously he had been brainwashed by Hamas incitement to go to Jerusalem to protect Muslim holy places:

Perhaps his message was a variation on the Palestinian mantra "with our blood we will redeem Al-Aqsa."

In Judea:

A 23-year-old PLO police officer (a lieutenant) from Surif near Hevron (who was the son of a police officer) rammed his truck into three soldiers at the Gush Etzion near Beit Omer. One soldier was critically wounded, one seriously, and one moderately. The terrorist was shot and killed.

The terrorist. Fortunately,he was killed before he could attack other people.

The terrorist graduated from a military college in Bangladesh before joining the PLO’s Fatah Organization. He was shot and killed.

The anti-government demonstrations continue . . .

There were the usual Saturday night anti-government demonstrations at various places throughout the country last night, focused in Tel Aviv.

A portion of the crowd in Tel Aviv last night. Take a good look at the signage.

A portion of the crowd in Tel Aviv last night. Take a good look at the signage.

It would appear that the anti-government movement organizers are now pivoting away from any mention of the judicial reforms and exclusively focusing on Netanyahu, National Security Minister Ben Gvir, and Finance Minister Smotrich. Many of the signs were in English last night, and American flags were everywhere.

The question is: who are these signs and flags meant for? Certainly not for Israelis. The obvious answer is that they are for the benefit of the Biden Administration and American funders of the anti-government movement.

Meanwhile, there are an increasing number of pro-government, pro-reform demonstrations. Your humble servant and his wife participated in one last night in Ashdod.

Speaking of Americans . . .

Your humble servant continues to be amused by the sheeplike way that Reform and Conservative Jewish entities in the U.S. have fallen into lockstep with the anti-government movement here.

And how little they know what is going on.

Two days ago, the Jewish Federation of the Sacramento Region posted a blurb supporting those attempting to oust Netanyahu. Here is a short portion of that rant–see if you notice anything amiss:

Concern has been raised about the spirit in which the coalition entered negotiations, as Justice Minister Yael Levin, the principal proponent of the reforms, said publicly that the governing coalition intends to pass the legislative package after the recess, seemingly referring to the existing package of bills . . .

Yes, you are correct. The Justice Minister of Israel is not a female “Yael” Levin, but instead he is “Yariv Levin”.

Another amusing story from last night . . .

The leftist television media lit up last night with the breaking news:

3 Right Wing Activists Arrested With Assault Weapons in Tel Aviv

The police even posted this:

*Police Spokesperson (TA)**Protest event in Tel Aviv – update:*

A short time ago, during an operational activity, the detectives of the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Sharona complex arrested 3 suspects who were in the crowd and in possession of assault weapons and pepper spray.

After their arrest, the suspects, 19 years old from Tel Aviv, were taken for questioning at the Lev station in Tel Aviv.

So when you think of assault weapons dear reader, what do you think of? Normally one thinks of assault rifles with huge ammunition cartridges.

So what were the assault weapons last night?

No guns to be seen.

No guns to be seen.

The assault weapons were (l-r) a small can of pepper spray, a beer opener, plastic knuckles for one hand, a cigarette lighter, and a key–all of which by the way are legal.

Israel invaded by . . . butterflies . . .

Hundreds of thousands of butterflies landed in northern Israel yesterday.

Hundreds of thousands of butterflies landed in northern Israel yesterday.

The area around Ahula Park was filled with ‘Nymphit Hahorshef’ butterflies– that came to us from the deserts of Saudi Arabia.

As Enbar Rubin, the field manager at Ahula said: “The migration of the butterflies is an ‘intergenerational migration’, and they reproduce during the migration. They too, like the birds, now migrate north and can fly for many hours over great distances, aided by the wind.”It’s such a special experience, to stand in Agmon and be surrounded by so many butterflies! Nature is so special, and every day it prepares new surprises for us. A butterfly festival will be held in Agmon Hula tomorrow with many activities for the whole family.”

Israel and Iran Reach Historic Peace Agreeement!

Mediated by the president of Bangladesh, Israel and Iran reached a historic peace agreement. It was agreed to transfer the enriched uranium as a donation to religious institutions – mosques, churches and synagogues. In addition, Iran will receive 30% of the shares of a well-known textile factory in Dimona.

It was also decided that Hezbollah and Hamas would be disarmed and joined as a brigade in Ben Gvir’s new National Guard.

The world welcomes the move. The presidents of Germany and France congratulated the parties and expressed hope for world peace and prosperity based on this outline.

The presidents of Russia and Ukraine also announced in a joint statement a ceasefire for one year in the heavy fighting in Bakhmut as a gesture of goodwill.

China’s president announced his country’s desire to join the movement and announced a week of unprecedented discounts of up to 80% on all inventory on Alibaba to encourage world peace.

The Goldman Sachs investment house expects a 20% jump in the stock markets when trading resumes this Monday.
