UPDATES 9:00 AM

***Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Monday was a day that began with a Palestinian bulldozer attack on IDF soldiers near Shaab in the western Galilee (6:30 am), ended with Palestinians throwing IEDs at IDF soldiers near Rachel’s Tomb (9:49 pm), and was punctuated in between by a missile attack on southern Israel (7:31 pm) and Molotov firebomb attacks at Abu Tor (7:49 pm), Beit Ummar (5:16 pm), Bus line 160 in Gush Etzion (5:06 pm), and Silwad (1:07 pm).

This is not to mention at least another 30 Palestinian “rock” attacks on Israeli men, women, and children.

***But, some good news in the aftermath of one such attack almost a month ago . . .

You will remember, dear reader, Tahel Sofer, the 3-year-old Israeli child who was badly burned over 35% of her upper torso almost a month ago when Palestinian terrorists firebombed her family’s car near Beit El.

After several skin-graft and plastic surgeries, Tahel amazingly walked out of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital yesterday.

Tahel Sofer leaving the hospital yesterday. Kol hakevod to this brave little girl!

***Your humble servant is still scratching his head . . .

. . . at the news yesterday that IDF inspectors captured 450 liters of TDI (the basic component in rocket fuel) at the Tarquimiya checkpoint yesterday. The TDI was being smuggled in a batch of soybean oil from Hebron to Gaza.

The TDI shipment seized yesterday.

The TDI shipment seized yesterday.

What in the world is Israel doing letting anything be shipped from Hebron to Gaza–from one group of terrorists to another?

Undoubtedly, allowing shipments back and forth from Gaza to Hebron is yet another dangerous scheme by the infamous IDF COGAT unit to make the world like us.

***And the French keep coming . . .

More French immigrants to Israel arrived yesterday. Think about it for a moment. Israel experiences violence everyday, and is surrounded on all sides by enemies who want to kill us, but French Jews still keep pouring into the country.

New French immigrants in Ben Gurion airport yesterday. Welcome to Israel and kol hakevod!

New French immigrants in Ben Gurion airport yesterday. Welcome to Israel and kol hakevod!

Why? Because despite everything else, this is a Jewish country in which, unlike France, Jews are able to live and worship openly and freely as Jews.

***Where else are Jews increasingly unable to live and worship openly as Jews?

Sweden.

In this context, it is completely unsurprising that the Swedish Foreign Minister would blame what happened in Paris on Israel.

In a Swedish SVT2T television interview, Margo Wallstrom blamed the attacks on Muslim frustration–specifically their frustration in the Middle East. And more specifically, their frustration and subsequent “radicalization” because of the Palestinian issue.

What could have been done to avoid Paris? Wallstrom blathered:

“To counteract the radicalization we must go back to the situation such as the one in the Middle East of which not the least the Palestinians see that there is no future: we must either accept a desperate situation or resort to violence.”

Say what?

The war in the Middle East between the Sunni Islamic State, and the Shi’ite Iran and its proxies and allies, is a war that goes back to “who was going to succeed Mohammed” after his death in 632 CE.  And does Wallstrom really think that the war in Syria is a result of anything having to do with the Palestinians?

Wallstrom should be shamed and immediately booted out of the Swedish government.

***Update on the Ayelet HaShachar Synagogue . . .

Yesterday we reported on the ongoing battle over this synagogue in Givat Ze’ev. This morning PM Netanyahu has filed an urgent motion with the Israel Supreme Court to postpone demolition for 48 hours in order to give time to build a temporary replacement synagogue in a nearby soccer field.

The Jewish community members camped out in the synagogue are refusing to accept the temporary replacement and are refusing to leave.

***And you think you have strange weather . . .

Yesterday, your humble servant was driving in south Ashdod when, from out of nowhere, we were caught in a violent hail storm.

Hail in Ashdod yesterday.

Some of the smaller hail in Ashdod yesterday.

Try to imagine large rocks loudly smashing the top and sides of your car and your front windshield and you will get a small idea of what happened (our car was dinted and the windshield cracked).

All night long, we were treated to a nonstop lightning and thunder storm coming in from the Mediterranean right over our house –but there was little to no rain.

This morning we awakened to a strangely yellow sky (like after a volcanic eruption) with a rainbow directly in front of us– and continued thunder and lightning all around. But this time, there is pouring rain.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The dangerous dissembling of the West and its “allies” concerning the Islamic threat continues to amaze your humble servant.

President Obama wants everyone to know that the Islamic threat is “contained.”

He might have a hard time explaining that to the hundreds of Yazidi women whose corpses were dug up in a mass grave in Iraq two days ago, or the 43 people blown up in a double suicide bombing in Beirut last week, or the 102 people killed in the bombing in Turkey, or the 224 who died in the Russian plane bomb blast in the Sinai, or the 132 (so far) dead in Paris.

But of course, Obama, perhaps the world’s foremost apologist for Islam, would never use the word “Islamic” or “Muslim”. For him and everyone else, the new magic word is “jihadist”. Francois Hollande would have us believe that the war is with the “jihadists”, not with Islam. This ongoing attempt to obscure what is really taking place is dangerous in the extreme.

Take another example of another Islamic terror event that happened last week.

You may have read that a Jordanian police officer, Anwar Abu Zeid, murdered 5 people at the U.S. funded King Abdullah Training Facility just outside of Amman. Among the dead were two Americans (former military on contract, read “retired special forces”), a South African trainer, and two Jordanian translators. Not coincidentally, the attack took place exactly on the 10th anniversary of Al-Qaeda attacks in Amman that killed 57 people.

Two days ago, the Jordanians went to great lengths to declare that the murders were in no way “religiously inspired”, and that Abu Zeid was merely a “deranged” individual who was “unaffiliated with any extremist group.”

But Abu Zeid was affiliated with an extremist group. And that “group” is Islam.

Here is a paragraph about Abu Zeid from Reuters:

“Abu Zeid, a pious young man, had grown more religious in recent months and told close relatives that he wanted to leave his job because he was unable to tolerate working in an environment where American defense personnel were present, security sources said . . . He performed prayers before heading to a canteen where he sprayed bullets randomly at those who were there . . .”

Undoubtedly, Obama and Hollande would call Abu Zeid a “jihadist.”

But we all know what the truth is. The time has come to call a jihadist what he is—a Muslim.
