***Palestinian terrorism in the last 24 hours . . .

at 8:30 pm last night, a 3-week-old baby was wounded when the car he was riding in was hit by Palestinian terrorists throwing “rocks”. Extensive surgery removed glass slivers from his face. The terrorists escaped.

at 3:15 pm yesterday, a Palestinian terrorist was shot to death on the Halhul Bridge near Hebron. He was the brother of a terrorist who was also killed when she tried to stab a soldier the Cave of the Patriarchs a few weeks ago.

***When is terrorism most likely to occur?

A survey was released yesterday based on the last two months that documents on what days of the week and at what times of day, terrorism is most likely to occur:

Sunday: Terror attacks begin at 8:00 am and grow stronger during the day culminating at 8 pm.

Monday–Wednesday: Terror follows a similar pattern as that of Sunday, but with fewer, less bloody attacks.

Thursday: It is relatively quiet in the morning but a dramatic increase takes place beginning around noon, peaking at 8:00 pm.

Friday: This is the most dangerous day of the week–attacks begin when Palestinians leave their mosques just after noon. They continue for the rest of the day.

Saturday: It is relatively quiet, but attacks peak between 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

***A fascinating revelation from a historical document yesterday reveals who was most in favor of Jewish “settlements” in Judea and Samaria . . .

The document contains the minutes of Israel cabinet discussions that took place back in December, 1975.

Who defended and encouraged the “settlements”? None other than Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres–especially Peres.

In one documented discussion, Rabin wanted to go ahead with settlements in eastern Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley, but Peres argued that this was not enough:

“There are people with a second home in Caesarea. Instead of holding a second home in Caesarea, I prefer to have a second home in Qadum [a neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem] . . . “I do not think that the settlements in the Jordan Valley and eastern Jerusalem [will] ensure continuity . . . [There cannot be] peace in Judea and Samaria if 150 thousand Jews can not live there [with Palestinians].”

In the end, Peres’ idea won out.

***Competing as Miss Israel in the Miss Universe Pageant next week, we have . . .

avigailalfatov

Avigail Alfatov from Akko. She has been Israel’s national fencing champion, works with children who have disabilities, and is in the Israel Air Force working with computer security.

Israelstreet wishes her good luck!

***We all know that the circumstances of living in our violent neighborhood has caused Israel to develop top-grade military armament . . .

Armament that is widely sought after by other countries in the world. For example, just last week Switzerland signed an agreement to purchase six Hermes drones from Israel.

Where does Israel rank on the list of world arms exporters?

In 2014, as a fraction of its GDP, Israel ranked 4th. But you might be surprised as to some of the other exporters:

arms exporters

Would you have expected to see Ukraine as number 1 or Jordan as number 3? And how about Sweden and the Netherlands in the top 10?

TODAY’S BLOG:

Your humble servant was struck by three quotations yesterday. None of them was particularly surprising, but each of them underscore a particular point.

Quote 1:

“Our people will continue the struggle until they achieve their goal of freedom, independence, and the return.”

Who said this?  Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman of the PLO, Unelected President of the Palestinian Authority, Head Terrorist in Charge, and Israel’s supposed “partner for peace.”

And there israelstreet fans, you have it in a nutshell.

Why did the Barak offer to the Palestinians fail in 2000–and the Olmert offer fail in 2007?

Two words: “the return.” Israel offered the Palestinians 94% of the land in Judea and Samaria, 4% of the land in Israel, and 2% for a corridor between Gaza and Judea. But that was not enough.

The Palestinians rejected those offers and will never agree to a “Jewish state” of Israel because to do so would deny “the return” of their so-called 5,000,000+ “refugees” to Israel.

Quote 2:

“It is important for the State of Israel to show full respect and sensitivity to all American Jews.”

Who said this? Reuven Rivlin, President of Israel speaking in New York.

What a sad joke. In case Rivlin has forgotten, we live at a time when some of the most strident attempts to delegitimize Israel come from Jewish groups in the United States.

Lots of organizations come to mind such as J Street and Jewish Voice for Peace.

Should Israel respect these groups? Should all of these groups be under the “pro-Israel umbrella”?

Of course not.

By the way, dozens of IDF reserve officers will demonstrate tonight outside of Rivlin’s home in Jerusalem because the idiotic Rivlin is participating in a conference tomorrow that includes representatives of Breaking the Silence–the hideous, small group of former IDF soldiers who are paid to travel the world trashing the Israeli military.

It would seem that no one is too vile to be under Rivlin’s umbrella.

Quote 3:

“I wanted to kill Jews.”

A 15-year-old Palestinian terrorist in a statement preceding his indictment in Kiryat Gat yesterday.

The terrorist, who was caught with a knife, is a resident of Deir Tzamt.

Isn’t it fascinating that Palestinians never talk about killing “Israelis”; they only talk about killing “Jews.”
