A “Housing Boom” in Judea and Samaria?

THE NEWS ON THE STREET IN ISRAEL

Wednesday Palestinian terror in Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem . . .

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli men, women, and children at Tekoa, Beit El, Husan (2 were wounded and taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center), Silwan, on the Mt. of Olives, Hizma, A-Tur, Beit Furik, Kiryat Arba, Al-Khader, Auja, Harbat Mesbah, and Hevron.

Palestinian terrorists attacked IDF and police forces at such places as Abu Dis, Ras al-Amud, A-Ram, Givat Ha’Avot, and French Hill.

Daylight saving time begins tonight at 2:00 am . . .

In Israel, any change has ramifications on the Temple Mount. Beginning on March 26, Jews will only be permitted to go to the Mount:

In the morning from 7:30 am until 11:00 am

In the afternoon from  1:30 pm until 2:30 pm

Astonishingly, Jews will only be able to go to the Mount for five days a week–from Sunday through Thursday.

Think about this for a moment. In an area under Israeli sovereignty, Jews can not go to the holiest place in Judaism (the Foundation Stone) at all, and can only visit its vicinity for 22.5 hours a week.

22.5 hours out of 168 hours a week.

13.39% of the time.

Unbelievable.

Oh, and by the way, the Mount will be closed to Jews completely on all Muslim holidays–including the month of Ramadan.

A Housing Boom in Judea and Samaria

A report from the Central Bureau of Statistics has sent the “left” into hysteria.

The report is that 2016 was “a record year” for construction of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Before your humble servant reveals how many housing units were built, consider that there are now 406,000 Jews living in Judea and Samaria. This does not include another 350,000 Jews now living in eastern Jerusalem.

406,000 Jews.

Given the high birthrate in Judea and Samaria, one could easily expect this number to increase by at least 15,000 per year. In fact, that is exactly the average number by which the population of Judea and Samaria has increased over the last 5 years.

15,000 per year.

So now that we have that number, how many housing units do you think were built last year? What was the “all time record”?

2,630 housing units.

A pathetic 2,630. And this is a “housing boom”?

In other words, housing construction in Judea and Samaria is virtually frozen–and has been since PM Netanyahu took over in 2009. In fact, between 2009 and 2016–during 8 years of Netanyahu governments–only 14,000 units have been built–an average of 1,750 housing units per year.

1,750 units per year for an additional 15,000 people per year.

When you stop and think about it, this is obviously an Israeli government policy to discourage Israelis from living in Judea and Samaria.

Upon Netanyahu’s arrival back in the country from China last night, he said that negotiations have been taking place in Washington concerning how many housing units the Trump Administration will now allow to be built.

It is just unbelievable how readily Israel relinquishes its sovereignty in every conceivable area from the Temple Mount to Judea and Samaria.
