Two Pictures of the Day

Get out your magnifying glass. This picture taken on the Gaza Border shows a "journalist" acting as a shield in front of a Palestinian launcher. You might also note that those on the upper edge of the bunker are not crouching because of incoming Israeli fire--they are crouching for fear of being hit by what is being slingshot.

Get out your magnifying glass. This picture taken on the Gaza Border shows a “journalist” acting as a shield in front of a Palestinian launcher. You might also note that those on the upper edge of the bunker to the left are not crouching because of incoming Israeli fire–they are crouching for fear of being hit by what is being slingshot.

What is being launched? “Rocks” and Molotovs:

Fires started by Molotovs launched by terrorists on the Gaza border.

Two Pathetic Quotes of the Day:

1. “Occupied and besieged Gaza appreciates your moral stance. Thank you Natalie Portman.”

Seen yesterday on a banner at the Gaza border.

This banner is absurd on three counts: the Palestinian country of Gaza is not occupied by anyone except Palestinians; the Palestinian country of Gaza is not besieged by anyone–tons of humanitarian supplies are trucked in daily; Natalie Portman’s stance is most decidedly not moral–it is a pathetic acquiescence to the viciously immoral BDS movement.

2. “Amnesty International has renewed its call on governments worldwide to impose a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel following the country’s disproportionate response to mass demonstrations along the fence that separates the Gaza Strip from Israel.

‘For four weeks the world has watched in horror as Israeli snipers and other soldiers, in full-protective gear and behind the fence, have attacked Palestinian protesters with live ammunition and tear gas. Despite wide international condemnation, the Israeli army has not reversed its illegal orders to shoot unarmed protesters,’ said Magdalena Mughrabi, Deputy Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Amnesty International.”

Statement issued by Amnesty International yesterday

Pure unadultered anti-Semitism.

Every country in the world has a right to defend itself except the Jewish country of Israel. Hamas and the other terror organizations in Gaza can send out their terrorists to try to infiltrate Israel in order to carry out terrorist attacks, but Israel cannot protect Israeli citizens.

TODAY’S BLOG

The IDF Changes Tactics on the Gaza Border

Yesterday saw a significant change in Hamas and IDF strategy regarding the violence on the Gaza border.

On the Palestinian side, Hamas terrorists led hundreds of rioters toward the border where they threw Molotovs, hand grenades, and IEDs at the soldiers along the fence. It was the most extensive effort yet to infiltrate Israel.

On the Israel side, the IDF responded by attacking Hamas targets deep inside Gaza. The hardest hit were six naval targets around the port.

Afterwards, the IDF spokesman issued this statement:

“Violence at the border will be answered firmly in the depth of the Gaza as it was tonight.”

Heretofore, the IDF has just responded to terrorists in the area at the border, but as the riots enter week 5–leading to a culmination on May 15–the Army has decided that it will not allow the situation to deteriorate further.

The IDF spokesman continued:

“The IDF will not allow cynical use of civilians, including children, women and persons with disabilities, as a cover for ongoing terrorist activity against Israeli citizens and IDF forces, and will continue to respond harshly to any such terrorist attempt. The response to the continuation of such incidents will not be confined to the area of the fence and the Hamas terrorist organization will bear its consequences even deep inside the Gaza Strip.”

To conclude today: your humble servant commends Defense Minister Lieberman and IDF Chief of Staff Eizenkot for their resolve in handling the terrorism at our Gaza border.
