Pictures of the Day

What do you think you are looking at/

What do you think you are looking at?

This is a picture taken in Gaza yesterday of a Palestinian terrorist launching an explosive helium balloon into Israel.

It doesn't take much explosive to start a fire. Balloons and kites lit 23 fires in southern Israel yesterday.

It doesn’t take much explosive to start a fire. Balloons and kites lit 23 fires in southern Israel yesterday.

According to the terrorists, helium balloons like the one above have a range of 40 km which means that your humble servant’s neighborhood here in Ashdod may be the next to go up in flames.

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

*In case you didn’t know it, the IDF is now ludicrously evacuating wounded Palestinian terrorists from the Gaza Border to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. Yesterday, doctors treating one terrorist noticed that his pants pockets were bulky. Upon checking, the doctors discovered he was carrying grenades and explosives.

The emergency room was immediately emptied, and police sappers were called in to defuse the explosives.

Four other Palestinian terrorists were wounded yesterday while trying to breach the border fence.

*Elsewhere around Gaza as noted above, Palestinian terrorists launching Molotov kites and balloons set 23 fires.

*Meanwhile, in Judea and Samaria, Palestinian terrorists throwing “rocks” and Molotovs attacked Israelis at Tekoa, Carmela, Hizma, Beit Ummar, Kochav  Hashahar, Anatot, Al Khader, Huwara, along Road 443, and Ma’aleh Hever among other places.

Also, Prince William’s car was hit with “rocks” as he traveled through the Palestinian settlement of Jalazun north of Ramle.

Iran ‘reopens’ its uranium feeder plant . . .

Iran announced yesterday that it was reopening a uranium feeder plant that it supposedly closed back in 2009.

Of course, this announcement was merely for public consumption so that the Iranians can wring more money out of European Union. Do you have any idea how many uranium feeder plants Iran has–some of which have never been closed?

The fight over the Western Wall continues . . .

Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev at the Kotel (Western Wall). Regev "was" also the head

Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev at the Kotel (Western Wall). Regev “was” also the head of the Committee for Holy Sites.

The head of the Committee for Holy Sites, Miri Regev, sent this letter to PM Netanyahu yesterday:

“My conscience will not allow me to support the Western Wall expansion plan . . . The Reforms’ demand to turn the Western Wall into a place where women and men pray together is unacceptable to me and to the heritage of the people of Israel. I decided to be loyal to my conscience, and therefore I informed the Prime Minister that I do not intend to approve the Western Wall plan by virtue of my authority as head of the Committee for Holy Places. We did not return to the holiest of our sites in order to desecrate it. I have faith and hope that we will preserve and honor the sanctity of the Western Wall.”

Bravo to Miri Regev for having the courage to do what is right.

That cannot be said for PM Netanyahu who immediately removed Regev from the Committee.

TODAY’S BLOG:

“You have not been forgotten.”

Prince William’s “historic” visit to Israel and the PLO territories has been onee laced primarily with this tired old cliches of the past.

When he was in Israel a couple of days ago, William praised the close ties between Britain and Israel.

Guess what he said in Ramallah yesterday? “We praise the close ties between Britain and the Palestinians.”

And whereas in Tel Aviv he praised the creativity and entrepreneurship, he said this to the Palestinians in Ramallah: “I’m very glad that our two countries work so closely together and have had success stories with education and relief work.”

Our two countries work so closely together?

Then came more drivel: “My sentiments are the same as yours in hoping that there is a lasting peace in the region.”

The same as yours? Since when have the Palestinians ever hoped for a lasting peace in the region?

Then came more cliches which are demonstrably false:  “I am struck by how many people in the region want a just and lasting peace. These are the same aspirations of young people everywhere in the world.”

No, Prince William, the aspirations of young people everywhere in the world are most certainly not the same.

And then William ended with this punchline:

“My message tonight is that you have not been forgotten.”

Alas, the poor Palestinians, victims as always, struggling for acknowledgement under the boot of Israeli oppression. This is the fraudulent mindset of the West–a mindset obviously shared by Prince William and his cohorts.

It’s enough to make your humble servant ill.
