Pictures of the Day:

The 7-man terror

The 7-man terror terror squad in the southern Syrian Golan Heights that was eliminated yesterday by an IAF strike while on their way into Israel (photo IDF).

As you undoubtedly know by now, a 7-man terror squad presumed to belong to Islamic State was spotted by Israeli surveillance as they made their way across the southern Syrian Golan to the Israeli border yesterday. An IAF airstrike eliminated them.

Afterwards, they were found to be wearing explosive vests, and at least one AK-47 was in their possession. Now that Islamic State has been routed from its positions along the Syrian border, their remnants’ attention will turn from attacking Assad to attacking Israel.

Here is another picture released by the IDF yesterday showing our soldiers on patrol in the same area:

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

On the Gaza border:

There were continued attempts by terrorists to breach the security fence; all were repelled by IDF gunfire. At the same time, dozens more incendiary devices were launched into Israel, and at least ten more fires were started, most notably at Kibbutz Gevim near Sderot.

There is no end to the fires ravaging southern Israel.

In Judea and Samaria:

Molotov and “rocks” were used by Palestinian terrorists to assault Israeli men, women, and children at the Hizma Checkpoint, between Tahasin and Azzun, in Binyamin, Tekoa, Hawara, near Qalqilya, and on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road to name a few places.

There is no end to Palestinian terrorism in Area C of Judea and Samaria.

One reason there is no end to the terrorism in Area C . . .

. . . is the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). This little known organization became much more known after an expose on Israeli television last night.

It turns out that the Norwegians with the help of the EU have been waging legal warfare against Israel on behalf of Palestinian terrorists in Area C for at least the last ten years.

Their strategy is to block any demolition of terrorists’ homes, block demolition of illegally built Palestinian homes, block any construction by Jewish communities, and provide legal services for any Palestinian in Area C accused of any crime.

From 2009-2014, the Norwegians brought 4,069 cases to Israeli courts. This year alone, the number of cases is 5,399.

The Norwegians’ goal is to swamp the Israeli court system into inaction.

What’s new today (good and bad)? . . .

*Heinan Airlines had its maiden flight this morning from Ben Gurion Airport to Guangzhou, China.

*The Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) dipped to one meter below the lower red line this morning, and it was reported that the Jordan River flowing into the lake is flowing at half of its normal rate (in other words there is very little water in the Jordan River).

The good, bad, and ugly about the Gay Pride and Equality march in Jerusalem yesterday . . .

The good: the LGBT movement’s march through our capital went off without any violence.

The bad: numerous politicians on the “left” attempted to characterize anyone who disagreed with the LGBT march as “homophobes.”

The ugly: there was no freedom of expression for those who disagreed. Police arrested protesters even inside the “protest zone” that had been established. Most notably, noted Israeli activist Baruch Marzel was arrested as were numerous others. All had been released by 9:00 pm last night but it was an ugly demonstration of police power.

Marzel was standing all alone in the protest area when he was suddenly arrested by the police. How many police does it take to arrest one man?

A pathetically ugly show by the police.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Time To Pay The Piper: The Coming “Peace” Tsunami

There seems to be no doubt that we are on the precipice of another disastrous attempt to make peace with the Palestinians in general and the terrorists in Gaza in particular. Here are the signs from yesterday:

*The Trump Administration announced that it was greatly expanding its “peace team”, and that disclosure of the Trump peace plan is imminent.

*PM Netanyahu canceled his trip to Colombia this week citing “events in the South.”

*Deputy Hamas leader Salah al-Ururi, one of the most vicious of Palestinian murderers, received “immunity from assassination” to visit Gaza yesterday. His purpose was apparently to accelerate the reconciliation plan between Hamas and the PLO (Fatah) being promoted by the Egyptians.

*Senior Hamas terrorist and spokesman Bassem Naim told international reporters yesterday: “Egypt is trying to mediate a broad peace deal between Israel and Hamas, which will initially include the rehabilitation of Gaza and then a prisoner swap deal.”

As your humble servant understands the situation this morning, Israel seems to be on the verge of agreeing to:

1. a gradual lifting of the maritime blockade of Gaza and opening of the land crossings into Gaza

2. rehabilitation of Gaza including construction projects to provide jobs including construction of a new power plant and sewage facilities

3. a “prisoner exchange” somewhere down the road involving our release of Hamas terrorists in return for the body parts of two of our soldiers and three mentally challenged Israelis who are being held by Hamas after wandering across the border on their own.

All of this will be agreed to while southern Israel is on fire and attempts are made to infiltrate Israel everyday in order to kill our citizens and soldiers.

Why do we never learn from history?
