Ludicrous Quote of the Day

“We deny our enemies the weapons of the tunnels systematically and decisively, we are doing this to Hamas, to Hezbollah as well, and we will do what we need to. Whoever attacks us – his blood is on his own head. Hezbollah knows this and Hamas knows this.”

PM Netanyahu speaking yesterday to a group of international reporters

Speaking on a day when more concrete was delivered to Hamas terrorists in Gaza and on the day before $15 million more dollars of blackmail money was delivered to Hamas terrorists in Gaza . . .

Whoever attacks us–his blood is on his head? It was just three weeks ago that Hamas launched 525+ missiles and mortars at southern Israel. What blood is on their head? They attacked Israel with impunity.

The News on the Israeli Street

A victory of sorts in the United Nations? . . .

You have surely heard by now, dear reader, that the United Nations General Assembly rejected a U.S. sponsored resolution that would have condemned Hamas for building tunnels into Israel, launching missile attacks on southern Israel, and burning thousands of acres of southern Israel with incendiary balloons.

You might be surprised to know that 87 countries voted in favor of the resolution, and only 57 voted against. 33 abstained.

A clear victory right?

Not quite.

In a procedural vote before the vote, the General Assembly approved a last minute ploy by the anti-Israel forces that would require a 2/3 vote in favor of the resolution for it to pass. The vote on the procedural vote was 75 to 72 in favor of the procedural change with 24 abstentions.

In sum, to say that the UN “rejected” the resolution is to inaccurately reflect what actually took place.
