The Most Idiotic Quote of the Day

“We destroyed all of Hezbollah’s tunnels; there is no basis for Nasrallah’s statements that there are more tunnels that we don’t know about.”

Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot speaking to reporters yesterday.

Where have we heard this before? For one, we heard this numerous times from Benny Gantz in the aftermath of the 2014 war with Hamas, only to find more and more tunnelsand we are still finding them today.

To state that Hezbollah only built 4 or 5 tunnels into Israel during the last 13 years since the 2006 war–while the much smaller Hamas built dozens in the last few years–borders on the criminally irresponsible and negligent.

The News On The Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

In Judea and Samaria:

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with “rocks” and Molotovs at the Peduel Junction, Hawara, Marda, Tekoa, the Al-Khader Junction, near Luban A-Sharqiya, at Hizma, and at a host of other places.

Along the Gaza border:

Palestinian terrorists continued launching explosive balloons and kites into southern Israel, but no major fires erupted. At the same time, attacks on the border fence continue, especially in the area around Zikim.

The South bounces back . . .

We have already reported in the last few weeks how the areas along the Gaza border that were seemingly destroyed by fires set by exploding kites and balloons sent from Gaza are recovering.

Today, we have more pictures to illustrate just how rapidly this is happening to grasslands and flowers:

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Great “Olive Tree Canard” Exposed

As all of you dear readers know, the mainstream Israeli and international media delight in continuously and falsely reporting that Jewish youth out in communities in Judea and Samaria constantly cut down olive trees–the olive trees that supposedly sustain the “poor Palestinians.”

It is a fake narrative which is disseminated by the PLO at every opportunity under the rubric that Israel is destroying Palestinian culture.

Today, a program appeared on Palestinian television which gives further lie to the canard.

As it turns out, a Palestinian man in Salfit has been chopping down olives trees for years and selling it for firewood:

Who knows how many thousands of olive trees this man has chopped down over the years?

Of course, this expose will not change the Israeli or international media narrative, but remember this the next time you hear the canard about Jewish community members destroying Palestinian olive orchards.
