Outrageous Picture of the Day:

Amman today: King Abdullah of Jordan (seated between the two flags in the front of the room) hosting yet another anti-Israel meeting.

Amman today: King Abdullah of Jordan (seated between the two flags in the front of the room) hosting yet another anti-Israel meeting.

Can someone please explain to your humble servant how King Abdullah of Jordan can possibly be described as a “moderate” Arab leader? All of the leaders of the farcical Arab “parliaments” in the Middle East were invited by Abdullah to Amman today to participate in an Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting entitled “Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine.”

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

A Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife was captured near Ya’abad while on his way to carry out a stabbing attack.

Palestinian terrorists threw pipe bombs and Molotovs at Israeli motorists on Route 60 near Al Khader, and on the road south of Karmei Tzur.

Palestinian terrorists attacked a bus between Ma’ale Amos and the T-Junction in Gush Etzion, and another bus in Al-Aruv.

Palestinian terrorists tried to burn down the Beil El security fence with Molotovs.

Palestinian terrorists in Gaza launched dozens of more explosive balloons into southern Israel yesterday. The IDF responded by bombing another empty sand dune.

The accusations mount against Benny Gantz . . .

A third woman has now come forward to allege that Benny Gantz, the head of the Blue and White Party, sexually assaulted her.

This comes following an interview with Nava Ron Jacobs on Israel Army Radio today in which she recounted again what she says Gantz did to her when she was a young girl living at Kibbutz Yarok.

The Muslim takeover of the Gate of Mercy Compound . . .

Once again yesterday, the Israel police took feeble steps to stop the Muslim take over of the Gate of Mercy Compound. This time they “expelled” Sheikh Abdul Salhab, the head of the Jordanian-Palestinian Islamic Wakf and Najah Beirat, the deputy head.

These actions did nothing to stop the use of the compound as a mosque, and what is more, we can be sure that Salhab and Beirat will return there today.

It is simply pathetic that Israel cannot counter this Jordanian-Palestinian challenge to our sovereignty over the Temple Mount.

Iceland throws down the gauntlet . . .

Iceland has decided to send the band “Hatari” to perform in the Eurovision contest in Israel this year. Hatari is known for a number of things, notably sadomasochism, bondage, and being anti-Israel.

Apparently, despite the prohibition against playing political songs at Eurovision will be in place, Hatari has already announced that it intends to perform a song that castigates Israel.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Southern Israelis Should Be “More Resilient”

As we all know by now, the Netanyahu government in general and the IDF in particular cannot deal with the dozens of explosive balloons that are launched daily and nightly out of Gaza not to mention the hundreds of IEDs and grenades thrown at our soldiers on the border fence everyday.

Aside from the mortal danger posed by such explosive devices, the net effect of the attacks is the constant sound of explosions. As southern regional spokesman Haim Yellin put it yesterday:

“This is a asymmetric, unilateral war. There is no siren that warns against explosive devices and explosives . . . At any given moment, a bomb can explode, you hear it, you can not prepare the children for it.”

Each explosion brings panic, especially to younger children, and each explosion also wears down older children and adults psychologically–a fact that seems totally lost on the IDF and government.

Just yesterday, Gen. (reserves) Tal Russo, the former commander of IDF forces in the South from 2010-2013 actually criticized Israeli residents along the border for “not being more resilient.”

Can you believe a statement like that?

Take a look at the column to the right.

In the last six years, nearly 10,000 missiles have exploded in southern Israel.

In the last year, tens of thousands of balloons and kites have also exploded in southern Israel.

Also in the last year, tens of thousands of grenades, IEDS, and Molotovs have exploded along the fence.

And southern Israelis are supposed to be “more resilient”?

Unbelievable.
