Special Notice:

From July 26-July 30, your humble servant will be traveling around southern Israel based in Eilat. This blog will be appear as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Nauseating Quotation of the Day:

“It is true that Ehud Barak has a friend who is a pedophile, but that does not rule out a union between Meretz and Barak.”

Noted author and Meretz member David Grossman, speaking at the Meretz Convention.

Sickening. Absolutely positively sickening.

To make matters worse, there is a report that the pilot of Epstein’s airplane, the so-called “Lolita Express” has given a deposition that he flew Barak and Bill Clinton to Epstein’s “Pedophile Island” on the same plane as underage girls.

But who cares on the Israeli “left”?

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 48 hours . . .

From the Gaza border:

Another major fire this afternoon was caused by an explosive balloon launched from Gaza–this one at Sha’ar Hanegev.

From Judea and Samaria:

The most egregious “rock” attack in the past two days occurred at Azzun where three children riding in a car were wounded and had to be hospitalized. An eleven year old boy was hit in the head; an infant girl was sprayed with broken glass; another child was wounded as well. Still another was treated for trauma.

Other attacks took place between Kiryat Arba and Beit Anun (a bus) near Nabi Eliyas, and at Afikim.

The United Right . . .

An agreement was signed this afternoon between Ayelet Shaked of the New Right Party, and Rafi Peretz of the Union of Right Parties (Beit Yehudi and National Union).

The agreement calls for Shaked to lead the list of this newly formed “United Right”. Still to be known is whether the Jewish Power Party and the Identity Party will be included in this new party or whether they will be left out in the cold.

We sincerely hope that the answer is the former.

TODAY’S BLOG:

And They Call The Netanyahu Government “Right Wing”?

In the midst of an anti-Israel rant yesterday in which he said that as president he would withhold U.S. foreign aid from Israel if Israel did not treat the Palestinian people with the “respect and dignity they deserve,” Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders added this:

” . . . in recent years under Netanyahu you have an extreme right-wing government with many racist tendencies.”

Of course, statements like this play well in the supposedly “progressive” U.S. Democrat Party these days and in so-called “liberal” circles around the world. All of these people view Netanyahu and everyone in his government as “right-wingers” and “racists.”

For the moment, let’s leave aside the absurd “racist” charge. However, to call Netanyahu “right-wing” is equally absurd.

Let’s consider some of the Netanyahu government’s actions in the last 30 days alone:

*the government has caved in to Jordan and the Islamic Wakf and has, de facto, authorized a new mosque on the Temple Mount.

*the government has eliminated the Golan Heights from Israel’s future construction plans.

*the government has decided to renege on its promise to provide updated security communication services to residents of Judea and Samaria.

*the government continues to allow Qatari money into Gaza, and has even taken once-forbidden materials off of the blacklist of goods that can be shipped into Gaza.

*the government continues to refuse to raze the illegal Palestinian settlement of Khan Al Ahmar and continues to raze homes in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

We could go on, but of course you get the message.

It may be true that Likud and the Netanyahu government is farther to the right than political parties such as the Blue and White Party and Meretz, but to say that Netanyahu and Likud are “right wing” is demonstrably and unfortunately false.

But that won’t stop the “progressives” and “liberals” from saying so.
