Bethel Schneur of Sderot and her beautiful baby daughter.

Remember back on Thursday when incoming missile sirens sounded in Sderot, Iron Dome interceptors were fired, and explosions were heard–all of which the IDF spokesman claimed were “false.”

When those sirens went off, Bethel Schneur began running to the nearest bomb shelter. She was in her 9th month of pregnancy. In trying to protect her unborn child and save herself, Bethel fell down and immediately began experiencing sharp pains.

For a moment, she feared that she would lose her baby. But once at the hospital, doctors decided to deliver her baby by Caesarean.

The joyous result is what you see above.

In Judea and Samaria:

There have been “rock” and Molotov attacks in Gush Etzion, at the Yitzhar Junction, near Hawara, and at numerous other places.

A stabbing was thwarted at Beit Furik when alert IDF soldiers spotted a suspicious man. It subsequently was revealed that he was carrying this serrated knife:

Terrorist finally captured . . .

It was June 4, 1985 when TWA 847  took off from Athens for a short flight to Rome.

Four terrorist hijackers took over the plane and forced it to fly Libya and then back and forth to other places during a 17 day ordeal. The most gruesome aspect of the hijacking was the murder of U.S. Navy seaman Robert Stethem who was brutally beaten and stabbed to death on board the plane and then dumped on the runway when the plane stopped in Beirut.

Some of us will never forget it.

Eventually, we discovered that the perpetrators were Lebanese members of Hezbollah. Until Friday, three out of four of them remained at large. But one of them exited a cruise liner on Mykonos on Friday, and was arrested when identified during a routine passport check.

By the way, you might be asking yourself what happened to the other terrorist who is no longer at large.

He was none other than Imad Mugniyah, Hezbollah’s second in command that Mossad eliminated on February 12, 2008 by detonating a car bomb as he walked by.

The United States still has a $5 million bounty on the head of the two remaining perpetrators who are at large.

TODAY’S BLOG

Disaster Is Imminent: Can It Be Avoided?

We always knew that Benny Gantz and his minions in Kahol Levan (Blue and White) were liars when they said they would not enter into any agreements with the anti-Zionist Joint Arab List after the election.

So it came as no surprise that one of the first people that Gantz called when he started trying to put together a Coalition was none other than Ayman Odeh, the head of the Joint Arab List.

By all accounts this morning, three out of four of the Arab Parties that are in the Joint Arab List (Balad excepted) will agree to recommend Gantz in return for numerous promises (see below). Whether they will be in his Coalition or not is unknown at this point. Odeh has stated that he wants to lead “the opposition.”

Stop and think about this confusing situation for a moment. The Arab Joint List will help Gantz become prime minister, but they would refuse to be part of this government. Gantz would not have 61 seats in the Knesset without their votes.

What does this mean?

It means, disastrously, that the Joint Arab List will control the Knesset. Gantz will have to have its votes in order to gain 61 votes to pass any law.

Or to overturn one.

For example, it already appears that Gantz has agreed to get rid of the “Nation” Law (concerning the national anthem, the flag, and the idea that Israel is a Jewish country), the Kaminitz Law (which enforces penalties for illegal construction), and other laws–in return for the Joint List’s recommendation.

If the Gantz regime comes to power, what will happen the next time that Hamas sends barrages of missiles to strike southern Israel? How will the Joint Arab List hamstring the government (not that they would have to do very much since Gantz is perpetually hamstrung).

And what will happen in Judea and Samaria? Your humble servant expects that the result would be total abandonment.

And what about the Temple Mount in Jerusalem? Will we see a rush to hand it over to the Muslims?

Even though there will not be an official mandate tally until Wednesday, President Rivlin is rushing ahead today and tomorrow to meet with the heads of all the political parties so he can rush to recommend . . . Benny Gantz (I hope I am wrong but that certainly seems what Rivlin is likely to do).

In short, we seem to teetering on the edge of disaster here.
