The daily Corona update . . .
11 am Saturday: There are now 17,706 confirmed cases of Corona in Israel of whom 15,042 have recovered. 110 people are in the hospital 23 of whom are on ventilators. 292 Israelis have died.
The number of Israelis being tested has rapidly increased again because of outbreaks in elementary and high schools; yesterday 16,133 Israelis were tested–most of whom were school children and staff. Fortunately, even though more than 200 of them tested positive, none of them are in serious condition at this time. You will notice above that the number of Israelis on ventilators has not changed since yesterday, and 1 more person has died.
*One change was made to entry requirements into the country yesterday. Interior Minister Deri has decided that “non-resident bachelor yeshiva students” will no longer be allowed in because of the increasing incidence of the virus in that segment of the population.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
However, not in Israel. All last night and today, fierce explosions have been heard on the Egyptian-Gaza border as the Egyptian Army continues its campaign to wipe out terror in the Sinai. Many of the terrorists in this area of the Sinai are Palestinians from Gaza who regularly move terrorists and materials through various smuggling tunnels.
