Graphic of the Day:

What are you looking at?

What are you looking at? (graphic courtesy of flightradar)

You are looking at the flight path of El Al Flight 46 on its way from Buenos Aires to Tel Aviv yesterday.

Why is this flight path significant?

Because it is the first time that an Israeli airliner has flown over Sudan– thereby saving hours of flight time.

By the way, the government has just approved a 1 billion shekel bailout plan to keep Israel’s iconic airline alive.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona update . . .

*7 am Friday: There are now 17,495 confirmed cases of Corona in Israel of whom 15,013 have recovered. 108 people are in the hospital, 23 of whom are on ventilators. 291 Israelis have died.

*The Health Ministry is now closing any school in which a student or teacher is confirmed with Corona. So far, more than 50 schools have been closed and 13,000 students and staff sent to isolation. 8 schools were closed yesterday: 1 in Beersheva, 2 in Bat Yam, 1 in Hadera, 2 in Tel Aviv, and 2 in Jerusalem. For example, the Terra Santa High School  in Tel Aviv was closed because 1 student was diagnosed with Corona.

The outcry continues . . .

. . . over “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz’s extraordinarily dangerous decision yesterday to turn over tax monies to the PLO without first offsetting the amounts the PLO pays to terrorists in Israeli prisons and amounts paid to the families of terrorists who died while murdering or attempting to murder Israelis.

There were calls yesterday for PM Netanyahu to reverse Gantz’s decision which was in direct contravention of an Israeli law that forbids such transfer.

A follow-up to yesterday’s blog about the Jerusalem Post . . .

Yesterday, your humble servant showed how the venerable and once-trusted Israeli newspaper has become nothing more than the propaganda mouthpiece for the PLO, Jordan, the European Union, the United Nations, and the Democrat Party in the United States.

We showed this by looking at headlines over the last week about sovereignty/annexation.

This morning’s newspaper just arrived on my doorstep. The two main headlines in huge font blare out:

RAJOUB CALLS FOR CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE TO STOP ANNEXATION

and

Before, it is too late; the problem should purchase generic viagra show extra concern to their reproductive health. HAS ISRAEL LOST THE SOVEREIGNTY BATTLE NOW?

That the Jerusalem Post would give voice to Jibril Rajoub is simply flabberghasting and disgusting.

In case you have forgotten, Rajoub has a long history as a terrorist murderer.

After becoming a PLO “minister,” he proclaimed that if the PLO had nuclear weapons, it would use them against Israel. He also called a minute of Olympic silence to honor the Israeli athletes murdered at Munich “racist.” To top it off, Rajoub was banned from FIFA because of “inciting hatred and violence against an Argentinian team proposing to play a friendly match in Israel.” It was the Argentinian national team led by Leo Messi.

Again we ask the question: what has gone wrong at the Jerusalem Post?

Bravo to the Norwegians, again! . . .

Norway announced yesterday that it will no longer fund the PLO Education Department as long as PLO textbooks continue to vilify Israel and incite Palestinian schoolchildren to carry out violent attacks against Israelis.

This decision comes on the heels of the decision last week to not specially label Israeli products coming from Judea and Samaria.

The attack in Syria overnight . . .

IAF jets carried out attacks on Iranian and Iranian proxy targets overnight. At least 9 were killed in the attacks.

Here in Ashdod we were awakened as the missile-laden jets flew low over our house at around 1 am.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Right’s Fight Against Sovereignty/Annexation

A new sign that went up in Samaria overnight. It reads:

A new sign that went up in Samaria overnight. It reads: “A Palestinian state will be established here.” #The Trump Plan.”

It has been revealed that PM Netanyahu has frozen all construction in the 15 Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria which are slated to become “enclaves” in the new country of “Palestine.”

In response to this and the fact that the sovereignty/annexation plan would result in a Palestinian state in virtually all of Judea and Samaria, the Women in Green have begun a campaign against the Trump/Netanyahu plan.

Such signs as the one you see above and others such as ones in Jerusalem that read “Jerusalem will be divided” have sprung up everywhere.

Your humble servant has always been very supportive of the Women in Green, and sincerely hopes that it’s campaign will be successful in changing the parameters of a sovereignty/annexation that is beset with flaws.

Kolakevod to the Women in Green and its founders: Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar!
