Quote of the Night

“There was a powerful explosion. We heard a huge boom, we were afraid. I went outside and saw the neighbor’s house full of smoke. There is no routine in Sderot. We have been living under fire and uncertainty for 20 years.”

Dalia, a resident of Sderot speaking early this morning

See Today’s Blog below for more details about the missile attack last night.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona (Covid 19) update as of 8 am this morning:

There are 92,233 confirmed casesan increase of 1,761 since this time yesterday

67,951 of these confirmed cases have recoveredan increase of 1,800

387 are in critical condition–an increase of 10

116 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 6

674 have diedan increase of 17

There are 24,282 active cases.

Great news! Our Corona czar says that the latest wave of Corona has stabilized!

Say what? If having around 2000 new cases per day, and more critically ill than ever, and more dead than ever means that “Corona has stabilized”, then one has to wonder what an unstable situation would be.

Just more dysfunction from our already dysfunctional government.

Israel goes deeper in the red . . . an Emirati bailout? . . .

Is this why Israel is so desperate for Emirati post-Corona investment?

The Israel Treasury announced yesterday that the deficit will probably reach 14.3% this year with our debt to GDP ration up to 80%. All told, we are looking at a deficit of 190,000,000,000 billion shekels (about $56 billion dollars)

Where is some of  the money going?

• Grants and assistance to the self-employed: 31.7 billion shekels.
• Social Security indemnification: 18.9 billion.
• Health, welfare, public order, internal security, and response to government ministries: 13.9 billion.
• Budget cost of credit distress solutions: 6.1 billion.
• Tax rebates: 3.9 billion.
• High-tech infrastructure and digitization to emerge from the crisis: 3.1 billion.
• Other goals, including food security: 3 billion.

• The education system: 1.2 billion.
• Financing of professional training, assistance to non-profit organizations and civil society organizations, assistance to small and medium-sized businesses: 900 million.
• Food security grants for underprivileged families: 700 million.
• Assistance to local authorities: 308 million.

Simply put, Israel suddenly finds itself spending money faster than it can print it. An Emirati bailout may indeed be on the way.

More fake news from Netanyahu . . .

The Prime Minister’s office let it be known this morning that in the “coming weeks”, Netanyahu will instruct the Civil Administration “to advance construction plans” in Judea and Samaria.

Coming weeks? Advance construction plans?

LOL: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No longer will we believe anything that Netanyahu has to say about Judea and Samaria.

Here comes Bahrain . . .

*Bahrain has chosen a building for the Israel Embassy in Manama. Apparently, a Bahraini delegation will shortly be on its way to Israel to finalize a peace agreement.

Israel’s Pathetic Response To Palestinian Terror Yesterday

The target, once again, was Sderot.

The target, once again, was Sderot.

At 12:58 am this morning, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired missiles at Sderot sending tens of thousands of Israeli men, women, and children running to their bomb shelters.

Again, discrepancies abound about what happened. The IDF spokesman claimed last night that two missiles were fired from Gaza; residents reported three explosions. The IDF spokesman also claimed that both missiles were intercepted. However, the Lachish police said that one missile exploded beside a house in Sderot (see photo below) sending shrapnel inside wounding one person, and that two more citizens had to be treated for trauma.

Obviously, again, the IDF spokesman is distributing false information. If you understand Hebrew, you can listen to an interview with “Rafael”, a man whose Sderot home was almost hit by a missile last night; in the interview he says that his family was asleep, heard the incoming missile siren, but were unable to make it to their bomb shelter before the explosion occurred just outside their house. Click here to listen to the 44 second news report and listen for the exasperation in the man’s voice.

Here’s a photo of part of a missile impaled in a Sderot home last night:

As of 4:30 am this morning, the IAF  “attacked” Hamas “infrastructure”. We put those two words in quotation marks because there are no reports that any terrorists were killed or wounded.

Meanwhile, yesterday was much of the same as the last ten days with 18 fires along the Gaza border ignited by explosive balloons launched by terrorists in Gaza.

Another forest up in smoke yesterday, this one in Kissufim.

Another forest up in smoke yesterday, this one in Kissufim.

Early this morning, the Defense Ministry announced . . . (hold your breath) . . . that in response to the missile fire, explosive balloons, and a bomb placed along the border fence that it is . . . (hold your breath) . . . completely closing the fishing (aka smuggling) zone around Gaza.

In other words, after 24 hours of having Palestinian terrorists in Gaza trying to kill our citizens and soldiers with missiles, grenades on balloons, and IEDs, we are not going to let the Palestinian smugglers fish today.

Unbelievable.
