The Quotes of the Day

“Netanyahu knew before the agreement with the Emirates about the F-35 deal and hid it from the defense establishment.”

So-called “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz speaking on Israeli television last night.

“It is not new that the Emirates have been asking for the F35 for years, but there was no stipulation that Israel would agree to this as a condition for signing the peace agreement.”

PM Netanyahu’s Office in response to the Gantz comment.

From the very first moment that the American F35 deal with the UAE became public, your humble servant pointed out that PM Netanyahu obviously knew all about it before he signed the Agreement. He also knew that the Emiratis would not have signed the Agreement without the F35s.

Just take a look at how disingenuous the PMO’s statement was yesterday. According to the statement, the U.S. did not insist that Israel agree to the sale of the F35s in order for Israel to sign the Agreement.

What political horse manure. Of course, the U.S. did not insist. The Americans can sell the aircraft to whomever it wants without Israeli approval.  But the Trump Administration knew that PM Netanyahu was more than willing to go along with the sale. Which he did.

The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona (Covid-19) update . . .

There are 308,840 confirmed casesan increase of 593

290,130 of these confirmed cases have recoveredan increase of 1,793

573 are in critical condition—a decrease of  9

227 of the most critically ill are on ventilatorsan increase of  1

2,329 have diedan increase of 10

There are now 18,710 active Corona cases in Israel.

The number of newly confirmed cases continues to drop as does the number of active cases in Israel. At the same time, the numbers of critically ill and on ventilators are holding steady–which is not a particularly good sign (though it is better than an increase in each).

Most important, the number of people dying each day seems to have recalibrated to between 10 and 20 a day.

Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria . . .

There is a continuing explosion of terror in Judea and Samaria.

Palestinian terrorists attacked a Border Police post in Abu Dis with Molotovs.

Palestinian terrorists planted an IED on Road 55 near Azzun.

Palestinian terrorists attaeked with “rocks” and Molotovs at Al Aruv, on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road near Karmei Tzur, the Yitzhar Junction, Beit Omer, the Eyal Crossing, on Road 465 near Neve Tzuf, Huwara, the Gilad Road, the Al-Khader Junction, Beit Hagai in the Hevron Mountains, Beit Omer, between the Adorim Junction and Avraham Hassano Junction, Al-Fawwar, Mt. Hevron, Shaarei Tikva, Mevo Dotan, Kochav HaShahar, and on Road 446 near Luban among other places.

The above information is taken from hakolhayehudi, rotter, and Rescue Judea and Samaria.

Speaking of terrorists . . .

Hezbollah was placed on the blacklist of terror organizations by the Sudan, Guatemala, and Estonia.

Speaking of terrorism of a different sort . . .

European Union representatives were, incomprehensibly, given permission by our coalition government yesterday to visit these areas around Jerusalem: Givat Hamatos, Har Homa, and the E-1 area near Ma’ale Adumim.

Predictably, these EU demographic terrorists immediately issued an extensive statement harshly criticizing Israel: “EU member states and similar partner countries represented here today fear continued settlement expansion and the constant threat of property demolition and evacuation facing local communities. We call on Israel to halt all settlement activity, including in and around East Jerusalem in areas such as Har Homa, Givat Hamatos and E1. These plans jeopardize the viability and territorial continuity of a future Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

Continued settlement? There is a de facto Netanyahu freeze on all construction in Judea and Samaria which has been in place for years.

Threat of property demolition? There is a de factor Netanyahu freeze on all illegal Palestinian buildings–even those whose demolition has been approved by the Israel Supreme Court.

Evacuation facing local communities? Israel has never forced anyone to evacuate anywhere.

The obvious hypocrisy is that it is the same EU representatives denouncing Israel yesterday are the ones funding the illegal building Palestinian settlements in Area C so as to encourage Palestinian population transfer from Areas A and B.

At the same time, the EU encourages boycotts of Israel and supports anti-Semitic Palestinian organizations throughout Judea and Samaria. Earlier this year, the Land Research Center received a grant of 3.3 million Euros not long after its director proclaimed: “How many times will the Palestinian Jesus be crucified by Jews who are rebellious from religion and humanity?”

One last question: why in the world does Israel provide a platform in Israel for the EU to trash our country?

Speaking of still more terrorists . . .

A Saudi store: no sales of any Turkish products are allowed.

A Saudi store: no sales of any Turkish products are allowed.

Turkish adventurism throughout the Mediterranean and Turkish trashing of the Gulf States is beginning to exact an economic toll on the terrorist regime of Turkish PM Taycip Erdogan.

Led by Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Tunisia have now decided to boycott all Turkish products. The Saudis have even replaced all Turkish products in Saudi supermarkets with Greek ones–complete with the display of Greek flags.

The Importance of the Normalization Agreement With Sudan

Another day and more Trumpian magic.

Sudan has now agreed to further normalize relations with Israel–in return for President Trump taking the regime in Khartoum off of the terror blacklist.

We say “further normalize” because back in March, Sudan agreed to allow direct flights from Israel to South America to use Sudanese airspace.

Obviously, the Palestinians were again quick to condemn Sudan with the PLO again resorting to its favorite “A stab in the back” phrase of the last month, and Hamas calling the decision “painful” and a victory for the “Zionist entity.” We will discuss the Hamas response in more detail below.

What did Sudan gain from this Agreement?

Aside from being off the terrorism sponsor list which makes it possible for Sudan to become integrated into the world economy in such areas as banking, the Sudan was immediately embraced by Egypt and the Gulf States–notably the UAE.

The Emiratis were quick to point out that they expect to immediately broaden trade with Sudan which will result in millions of dollars of income for Khartoum.

But back to Palestinian Hamas–and by extension Iran.

The Iranians have long used Sudan as a base for smuggling weapons in all directions. The route has been from Libya or Iran to Sudan to the Egyptian Sinai  to Hamas in Gaza.

This is the real importance of the normalization deal–though no one should be under the delusion that Sudanese leader Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan will not soon be triple dipping from Iran, the U.S., and the UAE.
