The News On The Israeli Street

The “daily” Corona (Covid-19) update . . .

The following covers the last 24 hours (from 8 am yesterday until 8 am today:

There are 317,332 confirmed casesan increase of 540

305,326 of these confirmed cases have recoveredan increase of 908

368 are in critical condition—an increase of 3

156 the most critically ill are on ventilatorsa decrease of 6

2,597 have diedan increase of 5

There are now 12,006 active Corona cases in Israel.

A startling Corona accusation? . . .

Not really. Finance Minister Israel Katz accused the Health Ministry last night of deliberately falsifying and manipulating Corona data to fit its own narrative.

Your humble servant has often pointed out over the past six months numerous cases of apparently fake data coming out of the Health Ministry.

At the same time, Naftali Bennett once again lambasted Netanyahu for praising the results of the second closure which we are now making our way out of: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the second closure is a huge success–a statement that is breathtakingly stupid.”

Bennett continued: ” . . .  Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Vietnam and more have prevented endless closure and economic disaster. And there are loser countries that have failed. So Netanyahu is proud that Israel is a loser with the highest percentage of unemployed in the world? A second closure will bring a third, and a fourth, and so on.”

Israel’s bizarre concern for our enemies . . .

In other Corona news, Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem (Jerusalem) is beginning to fill up with loathsome anti-Israel anti-Semites.

It is not enough that we are treating the abominable Saeb Erekat, yesterday a major, unnamed, officer in the Jordanian Army was helicoptered in for urgent Corona treatment.

Why in the world has Israel opened its doors to save these and other repulsive human beings?

Palestinian violence . . .

More about the shooting attack from a car in Samaria near Shechem that we reported on in yesterday’s blog: it turns out that the terrorist who fired on the soldiers and was subsequently killed by members of the Golani Brigade was 28-year-old Palestinian Preventive Officer Bilal Ruajba.

“Palestinian Preventive Officer” means “a PLO undercover operative whose mission is to crush all dissent against the PLO.” It is a job which is only given to Mahmoud Abbas loyalists who have proven themselves by committing acts of terror against Israelis.

In any case, other terrorists who were with Ruajba filmed the entire episode and posted it on Facebook today. You can click here to watch it (you will see the Israeli soldiers who were fired at, but you will not see when Ruajba was struck by a bullet and killed).

What Would A Biden Presidency Mean For Israel?

Even though we have already written the above two blogs on this subject, today we are going to put it all together.

At the outset, we should point out the obvious:  there will be two major changes.

First, Biden and Harris will warmly embrace Iran–a move that will radically affect the Middle East and Israel. Money will be funneled to the ayatollahs, sanctions will be lifted, and the Iranian nuclear deal will be reimplemented. and a blind eye will be turned to Iranian terror around the region and world. The existential threat to Israel will increase.

Second, Biden and Harris will warmly embrace the PLO that will in turn feel that their rejection of the Trump Peace Vision was justified. The two-state solution will once again become the mantra emanating from Washington. The threat to Israelis will heighten.

And we should point out the major unknown: what will Biden’s attitude be toward Israel’s warming relations with the Muslim world? Will this movement be brought to crushing halt? Will countries like Saudi Arabia continue to normalization or back away with Biden’s embrace of Iran (see below)?

Let’s move on to specifics starting with agreements which the Biden-Harris camp has already reached with the PLO:

1. PLO offices in Washington, D.C. will immediately be reopened. A

2. The PLO will immediately receive U.S. funding again.

3. The PLO’s puppet organization, UNRWA. will immediately receive funding again.

4. The American Consulate in eastern Jerusalem which mainly serves Palestinians will be merged with the American Embassy.

5. The PLO’s approach to a “two-state” solution (negotiations based on the 1948 Armistice Lines) will immediately be adopted, and the Trump Vision will be unceremoniously dumped into the garbage.

We continue with decisions that the Trump Administration made:

6. The Trump Administration’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty on the Golan Heights will likely be reversed.

7. The Trump Administration’s declaration that the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria are not illegal will likely be reversed. Biden will demand a construction freeze, and condemn “settlements.”

8. The Trump Administration’s declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel will probably not be reversed, but will be amended to say that “East Jerusalem” is the capital of Palestine.

Other changes coming:

9. A new Ambassador to Israel will be appointed who is not nearly as pro-Israel as David Friedman.

12. J Street and other left-wing supposedly “pro-Israel” groups will be welcome in the Oval Office again and will become “the voice of American Jewry” when it comes to Israel.

13. On the subject of social issues in Israel, Biden will silently and perhaps even openly advocate for the anti-Bibi Black Flag “democracy” demonstrators, Women of the Wall, and a host of so-called “human rights” organizations operating here.

So to sum it up, black days are ahead for Israel as Obamaesque returns in the form of Biden/Harris.
