Happy New Year!

OneIsrael wishes for you and your family a wonderful year as the world begins to emerge from the shadow of Corona. Be happy and stay healthy; make this your best year ever!

The Daily Corona (Covid-19) Update

Here are the numbers over the last 24 hours (from 8 am yesterday until 8 am today):

423,262 Israelis have been confirmed with the virus since the pandemic began last March.

There are 6,678 newly confirmed cases.

679 are in critical condition—an increase of 57

165 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 3

3,325 have died–an increase of 18

There are currently 43,615 active Corona cases in Israel.

About 950,000 Israelis have now been vaccinated,

It is an interesting and distressing phenomenon that as the number of Israelis vaccinated rapidly increases so does the number of newly confirmed cases. Notice also that the number of people who are critically ill is steadily increasing–taking up more beds in already overcrowded hospitals.

In that spirit, your humble servant would like to suggest a few possible resolutions for you to add to your list for the coming year:

1. Write one letter or email supporting Israel to your local newspaper or to an online website. You will feel better for having done so.

2. Reach out to Israeli organizations that help specific populations such as The Hebron Fund.

3. Begin to make plans to visit Israel this year–if not this year, then next. Come see what you are fighting for. No matter your age, think about volunteering for Sar-El. Click here.
