At The U.S. State Department Press Conference
Member of the so-called “press” corps:
“As we speak, the daily assault on the Palestinians – not only uprooting trees, killing children, demolishing homes, poisoning water – I mean, you can go on – killing fishermen, restricting all – this goes on on a daily basis. . . So I mean, what action will you ever take to show the Israelis that you are really serious in these statements that you say time and time again?”
Ned Price, State Department Spokesman:
“We’ve addressed many of the issues that you raised . . .”
Not a word from Price about the hideously false accusations ranted by the faux journalist–just an acknowledgement that the U.S. recognizes these “issues” and has addressed them.
The old adage comes to mind: with friends like those in the U.S. State Department, who needs enemies?

As if to underscore Netanyahu’s point, we have the news today that the U.S. is now pushing Israel to make compromises in order to reach an agreement with the Lebanese over the maritime border–and has even set a March deadline.

If you look closely at the soldiers in the background, you will note that they appear older. That is because they are reservists–an essential part of Israel’s Army. Yesterday, a group of 1000 reservists stationed in the western Galilee began reviewing battle procedures on the northern border in the event of a Hezbollah attack.

Palestinian terrorists struck Israeli motorists with Molotovs and “rocks” at Luban A-Sharqiya, on Road 60 south the Ma’ale Levona Junction, on Road 55 between Azzun and Nabi Elias, on Road 465 near Avod, and at least a dozen other locations.

The brazen European Union strikes again . . .
It’s bad enough that the European Union is running roughshod over Area C in Judea and Samaria (see Today’s blog below). But now, the EU is brazenly going whole hog to convert eastern Jerusalem into the capital of a Palestinian state.

The Facebook page of Deputy EU Representative Maria Velasco declared that “the Palestinian civil society organizations remain one of our key partners in maintaining the Palestinian identity of East Jerusalem.”
Velasco went on to crow that the EU forks out around 12 million euros to the PLO in eastern Jerusalem for “inclusive education, economic empowerment, legal aid, human rights and advocacy, housing, culture and identity.”
So here we have the EU brazenly asserting that it is helping the PLO establish the Palestinian identity in eastern Jerusalem.
And do you know why they are brazen?
Because our cowardly Israeli government lets them get away with it. We talk and talk about Jerusalem will never be divided again, and do nothing to stop the PLO and Europeans from dividing it.

The Outrageous PLO Takeover Of Area C Of Judea and Samaria
Another new road built almost overnight by the PLO with European funding. This road is meant to connect Palestinian settlements in the Jordan Valley and in Area C of Samaria.
The road above runs from Tubas, through Beit Furik, Aqaba and Duma to Mukhmas, Ramon and Deir Dewan.
Where in the world is the Israeli government? Why aren’t we doing something about this establishment of facts on the ground?
Speaking of Aqaba, the inauguration ceremony of 2 new water towers built illegally in Area C with European money took place yesterday:
Read carefully. Note where the money came from.
As you can see, the money for the water towers (there are actually 2) came from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
At the ceremony, PLO “Minister” Majdi al-Salah, brazenly stressed the importance of building and strengthening activities in Area C saying that “his office will spare no effort to support the citizens’ opposition and their establishment in their areas in Area C.”
Where in the world is the Israeli government? Why aren’t we doing something about this establishment of facts on the ground?
Let your humble servant tell you what our government was doing yesterday.
It was busy voting 55-43 against “regulating” new Jewish communities in Area C.
More specifically, it rejected a bill that would have provided electricity, water, and other municipal services to those communities.
It was a bill that PM Bennett–on his first day in office–promised that he would support.
The Young Community Forum said in response to the rejection 0f the law: “The coalition has rejected a bill that sought to allow us and our children to live like human beings. We are unable to provide heat to our children on cold nights and water does not flow to our taps. We demand that they take action to get the most basic right we deserve–to live. “
And so it goes in Area C, an area that is supposed to be under complete Israeli authority–both administratively and militarily.
The Palestinians are able to build illegal communities, roads, and infrastructure with no problem whatsoever while Jewish communities are thrown under the bus by a government that breaks every promise.
