The Infuriating Photograph of the Morning

An Israeli Civil Administration bulldozer destroying the 4-family Jewish community of Geulat Zion in Binyamin today (photo Voice of Israel).

What has happened to this country? Fledgling Jewish communities are razed without a second thought as illegal Palestinian settlements are ignored and allowed to expand right beside them.

The irony of the photo above is that the bulldozer driver is a Palestinian employed by the Civil Administration.

The News on the Israel Street

Corona is officially back . . .

711 Israelis were verified with Covid-19 yesterday, the highest total in a month. The total number of dead since the Corona began is 8,178–and increase of around two dozen in the last few days.

As a leading doctor in the Health Ministry said this morning: “The understanding should be that we are at the beginning of the 5th wave.” This gloomy prediction comes on the heels of Health Ministry testimony in the Knesset that protection afforded by the third dose (aka “the booster”) is beginning to wane.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli motorists with “rocks” and Molotovs at Lupine Aia, Hawara, Dolev, Einav, and between the Reihan Crossing and Mevo Dotan, among at least a dozen other places.

Palestinian terrorists attacked a bus near Deir Razah in the Mt. Hevron area. No casualties were reported, but the bus was badly damaged.

Your humble servant’s prediction comes to pass . . .

Last month, after yet another Syrian anti-aircraft missile supposedly missed its target and exploded in the Mediterranean off the Israel coast, I predicted that Syrians would begin aiming their “anti-aircraft” missiles at Israeli cities and fire them during every Israeli attack in Syria.

Last night, following an IAF attack near Homs, a Syrian MRSAM missile exploded over Haifa Bay beside the petrochemical facilities located there.

The Netanyahu trial hits an astonishing bump . . .

The part of the trial dealing with Case 4000 (a specious charge of media bribery concerning Walla! News and Bezeq) has continued this week with the prosecution’s star witness, Nir Hefetz, on the stand. Hefetz, who was Netanyahu’s trusted aide, has testified about how he facilitated contacts between Netanyahu and the owner of Walla! News, Shaul Elovitch.

Everything was rolling smoothly for the prosecution until Hefetz dropped the bombshells yesterday that he believed that Netanyahu had no criminal intent and that he never spoke to Netanyahu about regulatory issues related to Walla! or Bezeq. These were startling statements insomuch as Israeli law requires criminal intent when it comes to bribery.

IDF officers in Morocco this morning--a sight never seen before. Why are they there?

IDF officers in Morocco this morning–a sight never seen before. Why are they there?

Apparently, Morocco and Israel are beginning to engage in collaboration to:

*build a military base in Apso (near Melilla: a Spanish enclave in Morocco)

*create a factory for the industrial production of drones

*establish a license for Israeli oil and gas exploration off the coast of Dikla in the Western Sahara

TODAY’S BLOG

Another Ridiculous Excuse

Every Israeli security official is looking for excuses all the time when it comes to Palestinian terror.

Hamas fires missiles at southern and the reason? An unintentional firing caused by a lightning strike, nonpayment of Qatari blackmail money, a Jew walking across the Temple Mount, the attempted eviction of Palestinian squatters in Sheikh Jarrar, and on and on are some the reasons we have heard in recent years.

Then we have the excuses for Palestinian terrorists who murder or attempt to murder Israelis: the terrorist was mentally ill, the terrorist received a bad mark on the university entrance exam, the terrorist’s boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with him or her, the terrorist had social problems, the terrorist . . . well you get the idea . . .

So, it should come as no surprise that it was reported on Channel 12 last night that our security establishment now believes that the reason the terrorist murdered an Israeli and machine-gunned 4 more in the Old City the other evening is because “he was having domestic problems with his wife.”

Here we have a terrorist who has spent his life spewing vicious anti-Jewish hatred in sermons on the Temple Mount and in Islamic classes at an Israeli-Arab school in Jerusalem, a terrorist who planned out his barbaric attack to the minutest detail months in advancesuddenly being excused because he was having problems with his wife.

It is just another ridiculous excuse from a ridiculous excuse for a security establishment.
