Cloudy at the Dead Sea, but rain still falling in the north and central parts of the country:

Lots of flooded places inside and outside. Believe it or not, this is a photo from Beilinson Hospital where the ground floor is under water.

The Israeli Food of the Day

The weather is not only wet, but also cold (by Israeli standards: lows-Tel Aviv 11, Jerusalem 7, Tzfat 5). What about a simple semolina porridge to warm you up? All you need for the this quick, easy, and filling delight is “a mixture of semolina, water, milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon and about 20 minutes” (insanelygoodisraelirecipes):

Hearty fare for a cold morning.

Hearty fare for a cold morning.

The Most Accurate Quote of the Day

“The most dangerous virus is not Corona, it is hysteria. There are fewer than 80 seriously ill Corona patients and only 40 on ventilators–none of which have the Omicron variant. The government does not need to take hard steps.”

Avigdor Liberman, Israel Finance Minister

Your humble servant is no fan of Liberman, but he is absolutely right about the hysteria that has gripped our government with new restrictions pouring out of Jerusalem by the hour.

Airlines are paying particular attention. Air Canada canceled all flights to Israel yesterday until March 1.

The News on the Israeli Street

Corona continued . . .

Well, not exactly. It turns out that 1,088 children and adults are currently hospitalized . . . with the flu.

Yes, more Israelis are hospitalized with the flu than with Corona.

And still the government continues pell-mell with its impossible-to-understand restrictions for malls, and its insistence that we all now need a 4th booster.

All this despite the fact that there has been no research on how long the 3rd booster affords protection, no research on whether a 4th booster will protect against Omicron, no research on pretty much anything having to do with the 4th booster.

So why is the government proceeding? Its opinion was summed up yesterday by Prof. Galia Rahav, director of the Infectious Diseases Unit at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital and the Tzatam company:  “We see what is happening in England, that the country is almost shut down following the spike in morbidity. The side effects of the vaccine are minimal and if we are a few days late it may be too late. If we give the vaccine and make a mistake it is not terrible, but if we make a mistake and do not give the 4th booster, the results will be terrible.”

However, numerous “experts” have come out in the past few days urging Israelis not to get the 4th dose, so it remains to be seen what will happen when the dose begins being offered on Sunday to those 60 and over.

Premature ejaculation is an overwhelming critical condition for men that affect their viagra no prescription sexual mechanisms. By the way, only about 63% of Israel’s 9.3 million population have received two doses, much less the 3rd dose.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

A Palestinian terrorist who was attacking IDF troops was shot and killed near the Al-Bira area of the Ramallah district.

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli motorists with “rocks” and Molotovs at such places as Singil, between the Tapuach Junction and Migdalim, and between Beitar and the Al-Khader Junction.

Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF troops between Kochav Yaakov and Psagot.

Not hard to believe at all . . .

According to information gained from the IDF’s COGAT unit, 86,133 applications from Palestinians living in PLO territories in Judea and Samaria wishing to visit their terrorist relatives in Israeli prisons were approved between 2018-2020, and 2884 more were approved for the same reason for Palestinians in Gaza.

More than this,  3,291 residents of Gaza who received work permits in Israel between 2018-2020 never returned to Gaza and no one knows where they are.

When asked about all of this by the “If You Will” organization, the IDF issued this astonishing statement:  “We do not have any procedures or provisions regarding the enforcement or supervision of Arabs who violate the permit granted to them.”

Does this surprise anyone? It shouldn’t. This is all part of COGAT’s “humanitarian” open-door policy with Palestinians–which continues despite non-stop Palestinian terrorism.

TODAY’S BLOG

Shut Up And Stop Calling President Biden!

The hard-nosed Sullivan (left) yesterday with our buffoonish PM Bennett.

The hard-nosed Sullivan (left) yesterday with our buffoonish PM Bennett.

If a meeting could have been any more absurd than the one between PM Bennett and U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan yesterday, your humble servant would like to know about it.

It produced such meaningless rhetoric as these pearls of wisdom:

PM Bennett: “The negotiations between Iran and the powers in Vienna have profound implications for stability in the Middle East and Israel’s security in the coming years.”

Wow Naftali, how profound, and who really cares what you think?

PM Bennett: “We can talk openly and honestly about all the common challenges we face. This is exactly what was done.”

Gee Naftali, what about the fact that Biden will not even take a phone call from you about Iran?

Sullivan: “We are at a critical point in time for our two countries in relation to a number of important security issues. The United States and Israel need to develop a common strategy and point of view.

Say what?  There have been endless meetings between U.S. and Israeli officials in recent months. And the U.S. and Israel need to develop a common strategy and point of view? It doesn’t take a rocket scientists to see that what Sullivan is really saying is that Bennett needs to shut up, stop calling Biden, and adopt Biden’s point of view.

A statement at the end of the meeting: The two discussed the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the powers in Vienna, as well as a number of other issues common to the two countries.

Other issues common to the two countries? All the U.S. wants to talk about these days are the Palestinians, the Palestinians, and the Palestinians.
