The Israeli Food of the Day

You just can't beat a good falafel.

You just can’t beat a good falafel.

Falafels, french fries, salad, pickles, tahini sauce, humus all packed into a warm pita–and still costing only about 14 agorot at any falafel stand in Israel, this taste delight is a steal!

Of course, you don’t have to have the falafels in a pita:

Also very yummy!

Photos and Videos Of the Day

On the Ashdod Beach last night:

What do you think you are looking at?

What do you think you are looking at?

Your humble servant took this photo yesterday evening during his walk along the beach in front of our house in Ashdod. It was one of dozens of large poisonous jellyfish which had washed ashore–unusually because we don’t usually see them at this time of year.

In Syria early this morning:

A very limited view of the Israeli attack on Latakia, Syria last night. See video below.

A very limited view of the Israeli attack on Latakia, Syria last night. See video below.

Your humble servant and his wife were almost knocked out of our bed at about 3:30 am this morning by what sounded like a squadron of F16s screeching low overhead (low because they were loaded with missiles). It turns out they were headed for the Syrian coastal city of Latakia where they destroyed a large number of warehouses loaded with weapons being shipped from Iran to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Click here to see a video of the attack.

In Beit Shean last night:

A protest in Beit Shean last night.

An anti-government protest of youn people in Beit Shean last night.

The banner reads: Yehuda’s Murder: We will never forgive and never forget! This was part of a protest of the government’s attempt to eradicate the Chomesh yeshiva in northern Samaria following the murder of Yehuda Dimentman.

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Judea and Samaria remain awash in Palestinian terror with nearly three dozen attacks reported yesterday.

These are 15 places where Palestinian terrorists using Molotovs and “rocks” attacked Israelis: Negohot, Hevron Hills, Mt. Hevron, Havad Gilad, Madama, between Kiryat Arba and Beit Anun, the Avraham Hassano HaYad Junction, Road 446 near Luban A-Sharqiya, Tapuach, Migdalim, between Anatot and Hizma, the Halhul Bridge, Al Khader, the Jerusalem-Gush Etzion Road, and Al-Fawwar.

The above information was reported by residents to Rescue Without Borders SSF/Rescue Judea and Samaria.

Another outrageous judicial decision . . .

Back in May during the last war with Palestinian Gaza, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed two ultra-orthodox worshipers who were on their way to pray at the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem.

The terrorist was subsequently captured, found guilty, and yesterday was the day of sentencing for the attempted murder of the two men.

Astonishingly, Judge Tamar Bar-Asher only sentenced the terrorist to 11 months in prison and did not order the terrorist to financially compensate the victims.

Why? According to Bar-Asher, the security camera footage of the attack showed that the victims “conducted themselves fearlessly with great confidence” during and after the attack. She went on to say that “they did not look scared.”

As one of the infuriated victims said after the sentencing: “What did the judge want? That we stand there and do nothing? That we should go like sheep to the slaughter?”

The daily Corona update . . .

*Another day has passed during which no one has died of any kind of Corona, and the number of seriously and critically ill have not increased.

*The number of countries on the “red” list of no-travel has been greatly reduced. However, the U.S., Mexico, Canada, France and ten other countries remain “prohibited”.

Don’t shop AliExpress . . .

The announcement from Ali Express that began appearing yesterday.

Can you believe this?

AliExpress now refers to the Jerusalem Post as the Palestine Post in declaring that it will not deliver parcels from Israel to Judea and Samaria which it calls “Palestine.”

As you probably know, AliExpress is an online retail service headquartered in China owned by the Alibaba group.

Here at OneIsrael we strongly suggest that you never use AliExpress.

The Appalling IDF Report on the Murder of Sgt. Barel Shmueli

Sgt. Barel Shmueli. Murdered at the Gaza fence on

Sgt. Barel Shmueli. Shot in the face on the Gaza fence on August 21, 2021–he died 9 days later. May his memory always be for a blessing.

The moment he was shot:

How did the terrorist get so close to the fence?

How did the terrorist get so close to the fence?

Part of the IDF report released yesterday:

A section of the IDF report on the murder of Barel

A section of the IDF report on the murder of Barel Shmueli.

The yellow highlighted sentences chronicle the sequence of events that took place on that day that culminated in Barel’s death.

The report says that the IDF made two operational “errors” namely:

*The IDF should have not placed soldiers along the border because violent “protesters” were nearby.

Can you believe this? Our cowardly IDF General Command now believes that we should not place our soldiers in a position in Israel to confront violent terrorists who threaten our border.

It is simply unbelievable.

*The IDF relied on Hamas to police the area in front of the fence and therefore did not have sufficient security resources in the area.

Say what? Well, it really comes as no surprise inasmuch as we have been reporting for years now on the cozy relationship between the IDF General Command and Hamas, but to think that we are now relying on Hamas to protect our soldiers is appalling.

In sum, the report is a whitewash. No IDF commanders are held responsible for anything.

One final note: the Hamas terrorist who murdered Barel and then ran to Hamas headquarters for protection, left the protection last month and is walking around Gaza acclaimed as a hero.
