The News On The Israeli Street

Following Coalition Chairwoman Idit Silman’s earthshaking announcement yesterday that she is resigning from the Coalition and thereby leaving the Coalition with only 60 votes, there has been the predicted intense scurrying about by all of the other Knesset politicians.

The most significant developments of the last 24 hours:

*Three of Silman’s colleagues in Yamina, Nir Orbach, Avraham (Abir) Kara, and Ayelet Shaked met yesterday and issued a statement that they had not yet decided on a course of action; however, whatever they decide on, they will act together.

*This morning, PM Bennett has declared that Amichai Shikli–who was expected to join Silman is hereby “retired” from Yamina–thereby kicking him out of the Party before he has a chance to resign from the Coalition. Shikli will remain as a 1-person Knesset Party.

*Meanwhile today, Orbach, announced that he was not resigning from the Coalition . . . yet. Instead he gave PM Bennett and the government an ultimatum demanding that electricity be supplied immediately to young Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and that construction in Judea and Samaria be unfrozen.

Interestingly, the word this morning is that “Defense” Minister Gantz is pretending to possibly go along with these demands. He says he may order electricity to be supplied if it is also supplied to illegal Palestinian settlements in Area C. Also, he will order a planning committee meeting (no promise of construction) to discuss new construction in Judea and Samaria. By the way, after hearing Orbach’s demands, the Biden Administration warned Israel today not to begin any new construction in Judea and Samaria.

*Meanwhile, the Joint Arab List (which is not part of the Coalition), announced that it will block a no-confidence vote in the Knesset unless an alternative government with Benny Gantz as prime minister would be the result.

This action tells you all you need to know about Benny Gantz who also announced this morning that he is going to work to hold the Coalition together.

Bennett lies about his government’s accomplishments . . .

Yesterday, as the narcissistic PM Bennett was touting his government’s achievements to explain why the Coalition government could not be allowed to be overturned, he claimed that he “had stopped the flow of money to Hamas in Gaza.”

Talk about an outright lie.

Since 2019, Qatar has paid the Hamas terrorists $30 million dollars a month in blackmail money. Supposedly, that is divvied up as $10 million a month to Hamas officials, $10 million a month for “needy” families (the families of Hamas members), and $10 million a month for gas to operate the electrical power station in Gaza.

As we have previously reported here at OneIsrael, the $10 million a month for Hamas officials comes in this form: Qatar pays $10 million a month to Egyptian fuel companies which in turn send fuel tankers through Rafah into Gaza. The fuel in the tankers is turned over to Hamas which sells the fuel for a 100%+ profit.

“What Has Happened To This Country?”

Brimming with confidence and endowed with insatiable curiosity, Rina was blown apart by a bomb while walking to a spring with her family.

Brimming with confidence and endowed with insatiable curiosity, 17-year-old Rina was blown apart by a bomb while walking to a spring with her family.

It is simply incredible that our moronic government cannot see the connection between concessions to the Palestinians and Palestinian terror against Israelis.

Your humble servant is sure that you remember the barbaric murder of Rina Shnerb back in 2019 near the Dolev Spring in Samaria. Terrorists who were lying in wait, detonated an IED as she walked down a path with her family, blowing away the lower part of her body and killing her.

Since then her family has been treated to the 5-man cell that murdered her laughing and joking in court. Yesterday they were told the unbelievable news that the terrorists are going to get a plea deal to reduce their sentences.

At a press conference afterwards, the Shnerb family expressed their outrage.  Her mother simply said: “Agreements with human animals must not be reached.”

Her father Eitan angrily denounced the decision:  “We came here to shout and shout in order to warn and prevent the next murder. They told us this after a bloody week, a crazy sequence of attacks with 11 dead. I personally saw Rene’s blood spilled like water. What has happened to this country?”

Indeed, what has happened to Israel?
