The News on the Israeli Street

On the Palestinian front . . .

Early Friday morning, IDF fighters captured two heavily armed (grenades and knives) who tried to cross the security fence along the southern Gaza border.

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with “rocks” and Molotovs on Road 443 west of the Beit Horon Bridge, on Road 60 near La Soya, north of Givat Assaf, in Hawara south of Shechem, at the Tekoa Junction, and at more than two dozen more locations.

Palestinian terrorists in Hevron fired weapons into the Beit Hadassah area of the city. Miraculously, only one young girl was hit–in the foot. She is in fair condition.

An unbelievable security breach . . .

In an unfathomable security breach, three Palestinians just waltzed into the Rama IDF outpost of the Binyamin Territorial Brigade on Thursday morning.

They roamed about the base amongst the sleeping soldiers and Border Police for about two hours until they were accidentally discovered by a female fighter at the base. When she began shouting, the infiltrators fled.

It is believed (though no one knows because the terrorists were not captured), that the terrorists were trying to steal ammunition.

Afterwards, the Border Police issued a statement in which they said that “we take the matter seriously.”

Can you believe this?

TODAY’S BLOG:

See You On Sunday!

On Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) on Sunday, the annual Flag March will take place between 4-6 pm. Beginning on Jaffa Street near City Hall, the March with its hundreds of Israeli flag-wavers will split into two directions: to the Damascus Gate and to the Jaffa Gate of the Old City. Whichever route is taken, the marchers will then walk through the Muslim section to the Western Wall.

Left wingers in Israel supported by international “humanitarian” organizations, the United Nations, the European Union, and Arab countries have termed the march a “provocation” and demanded it not take place–or at the least that its route be changed.

Oh yes, your humble servant neglected to mention the Biden Administration in the list of those trying to thwart the March. Spokespeople for the White House and U.S. State Department have spent the week openly calling for Israel to not hold the March–a March that underscores Israeli sovereignty over the Old City while at the same praises the Old City’s liberation in 1967 from its Jordanian-Palestinian occupiers.

Fortunately, and somewhat unbelievably, our left-wing government has apparently developed some spine and is refusing to be intimidated by those opposing the March or by Hamas and Islamic Jihad which are threatening to fire missiles into Israel if the March goes forward.

In any case, your humble servant is going to Jerusalem early Sunday morning where he and his family will proudly participate in the Flag March.

Hope to see you there!
