Note: As regular readers of OneIsrael know, we do not publish a regular blog on Shabbat unless circumstances warrant.

At 12:50 am this morning, we were jolted out of our bed here in far south Ashdod  by the sound of Iron Dome interceptors being fired a few hundred meters away. They were trying to shoot down missiles targeting this area:

The missiles targeted the Chof Ashkelon (Ashkelon Beach and Ashkelon city areas.

At 4:45 am, the Palestinian terrorists in Gaza struck again:

Significantly, these strikes were the deepest in Israel in over a year.

At least two missiles were launched; where they struck is still unknown at this hour. Residents in Sderot reported “terrifying explosions.”

According to the IDF spokesman (who can never be believed about missile attacks from Gaza), a total of 4 missiles were fired in both attacks; 3 hit open areas, and one was intercepted by the Iron Dome (the interceptors that were fired from near our house).

We will have more to say about these missile attacks in tomorrow’s blog.
