3 Photos Of The Day

That You Will Not See In The Mainstream Israeli or International Media

Some of the 100,000 pro-government supporters in Tel Aviv last night.

Some of the 100,000 pro-government supporters in Tel Aviv last night (this photo and the two that follow were made by Yotam Ronen of Reuters).

And another:

And still another:

In this photo, a group of supporters are walking parallel to the Ayalon Freeway which you can see to the right.

Why won’t you see these photos in the mainstream media? Because the media wants to portray the “Freedom March” in Tel Aviv last night as insignificant. For example, both the Yediot Ahronot and Jerusalem Post newspapers buried mention of the events in Tel Aviv last night in tiny articles on the back pages of sections–not splashed in headlines across the front page as articles and photos of leftist demonstrations are.

See more about the Tel Aviv demonstration in Today’s Blog below.

The News on the Israeli Street

The Legal Reform “Negotiations” at President Herzog’s home . . .

The talks are not going well at all. In the first place, no mechanism for continuing the talks has been established, and secondly the Opposition parties do not want to talk about legal reform.

What a surprise!

More fraudulent anti-government protesters . . .

We have already pointed out here how some of the “handmaids” involved in the anti-government protest are not handmaids at all, but hooded men.

Now it turns out that an investigation by the IDF into what reservists are refusing to serve has turned up information that shows that many of these reservists were actually kicked out of their units long ago, and others who have said that they are refusing have not refused to report for duty.

The Ehud Barak factor . . .

We have previously reported on how Barak has spent a considerable amount of money supporting the anti-government demonstrations and we know well about his almost daily attacks on the Netanyahu coalition.

However, it may be that Barak’s involvement in trying to oust the government runs much deeper.

Remember this graph that we posted several days ago:

The poll asked people "How many times have you been out in the street protesting the legal reforms?

The poll asked people “How many times have you been out in the street protesting the legal reforms?

The remarkable finding was that 81% of the population has never participated in an anti-government demonstration, and of the other 19% only a very few have been to more than 2 such demonstrations.

Speaking in London this week, Barak revealed that during the last year he focused on “how to lead coups with the support of only 3.5% to 8% of the public”. According to Barak, the secret to this was explained in a book “by professors who reviewed protests against governments between 1900 and 2006.”

That secret is permanent, non-stop demonstrations by that small percent. In such situations, those against the government usually succeed in overthrowing the government.

A small group of people making a loud continuous noise. That is certainly what we have seen in Israel. It would be interesting to know if it was Barak who actually organized the “protests.”

Fascinating plant research from Tel Aviv University . . .

It turns out that plants make noise. Even a simple tomato plant makes clicking noises. In fact, when a tomato plant is not under stress, it makes about one click per minute; however, if it is under stress, it makes numerous clicks per minute.

While humans cannot hear the clicks because they are at frequencies above the range of human hearing, other animals such as bats, mice, and even insects can.

Published in the journal Cell, the next step in the research is to find out if plants can communicate with each other. Again for example, is it possible for a tomato plant to warn another tomato plant of some dangerous condition such as scarcity of water?

TODAY’S BLOG

“If You Tell A Lie Big Enough And Keep Repeating It . . .”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

The origin of this truism is unclear. But what is clear is that the Opposition in Israel employs the strategy of continually repeating falsehoods.

And it is even more amazing how people come to believe those falsehoods whether they be Jews in liberal democracies or leaders of so-called liberal democracies.

Take Opposition leader Yair Lapid’s Orwellian statement about the pro-government demonstration in Tel Aviv last night:

“Demonstrations are the lifeblood of democracy, but what we are seeing here is not a protest – it is a violent attack on democracy aimed at shedding blood, scaring the public, hitting the media. They want to repeat in Israel the attack on the Capitol in Washington, D.C. These violent demonstrations begin with the incitement that Netanyahu leads against the media and freedom of expression, but he is losing control over the protesters just as he lost control over his government. I call on the protesters to refrain from any violence, let journalists do their job, and express their protest only through democratic means.”

14 weeks of nonstop demonstrations by the Left, demonstrations that have devolved into the breaking down of police barricades, harassing of reporters, and even attacks on innocent civilians–and now we have 1 demonstration in favor of the government and Lapid calls it “a violent attack on democracy”.

Just unbelievable.

“Aimed at shedding blood” . . . “scaring the public” . . . “repeat in Israel the attack on the Capitol in Washington, D.C”. . . “violent demonstrations” . . . : No blood was shed by the 100,000 demonstrators yesterday, no attempt was made to scare the public, no attack was made on any institution of government, and no violence occurred.

All that happened was that 100,000 people exercised their freedom of expression to support the government.

The only blood being spilled and violence being perpetrated is coming from the leftist anarchists that Lapid encourages at every opportunity. Remember the photo from yesterday of the orthodox man who was nearly murdered on the street in Tel Aviv by a leftist mob?

The bloodied husband.

The bloodied husband.

That man is still in the hospital–unable to get out of bed.* In case you didn’t watch the video, click here to see how the mob chased down the man and his wife.

*A slight correction: yesterday, we described the couple that was attacked in Tel Aviv as “elderly” based on journalistic accounts. After seeing the wife on television last night, they would be better described as “middle-aged”.

We hear at OneIsrael wish you:

Shabbat Shalom!
