A massive failure of the Israel electrical grid last night with some locations without power for more than 10 hours. The reason was system overload due to extreme temperatures (more than 45 C in some places) and fires everywhere. The above photo is from Tel Aviv.

More than 300 fires were reported across Israel yesterday. This scene is in the south near Highway 4.

Many fires were in open areas such as this one at the Shilot Junction. No one is sure this morning how many fires started naturally and how many were set by arsonists.

The blackouts and the fires did not stop several hundred anarchists from “protesting” outside the Netanyahus’ home in Caesarea. The protests were without any prior police permits, and police forcibly removed and arrested many.
