UPDATE 9:00 AM

The Graphic of the Day, Again

Sderot was targeted by incoming missiles at 9:00 pm last night.

Sderot was targeted by incoming missiles at 9:00 pm last night. Nahal Oz was targeted a short time before.

Residents report at least three missiles exploded–all in “open areas” in and around the city. Once again, we have to wonder how the IDF can claim that Sderot is “secure.” It appears that we are back to where we were before the war started.

Speaking Of Being Back To Where We Were on October 6th

It was revealed yesterday by the parents of female IDF observers on the Gaza border that we had a replay of the events of October 6 on Wednesday.

Those observers reported to the IDF command on Wednesday that a group of Palestinians had approached the “security fence” within a distance of 1000 meters and were acting “suspiciously.”

The observers  quickly alerted the commanders just as they did back on October 6, but the IDF command did not give our soldiers permission to fire.

Finally, after the Palestinians drew closer, one soldier fired over heads of  the Palestinians and they turned around.

One officer among the observers said this: “Terrorists are returning to the border area and gathering intelligence. We estimate that they are returning to see if there are any shafts left under the rubble.  A belated warning shot in the does not ensure anyone’s security.”

After the above was reported, the IDF Spokesman declared that there is nothing to worry about: “The IDF is arrayed along the border fence in Gaza with many forces, and is working in a variety of ways to protect the area. The IDF forces are acting according to the instructions not to allow any party to reach the border fence. The opening fire instructions are orderly, and allow the forces to remove any threat.”

Arrogance, arrogance, and more arrogance–just the sort of arrogance that led to the October 7 disaster.

Security in the South?

After 5 months of closure, the Sderot train station will reopen.

However, the usual 1 hour ride to Tel Aviv will now take 2 hours because the train will go to Tel Aviv via Beersheva instead of Ashkelon.

In other words, the Sderot-Ashkelon rails remain closed.

Why?

Because the IDF says that this section of track is exposed to terrorist fire from Gaza.

As we have written many times, there is no security in the South–even after more than 150 days of war.

The Disturbing Quotes of the Morning

Quote 1:

“We will not rest until we return all the abductees home to their loved ones, relieve the intolerable humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. I have ordered the U.S. Army to set up a temporary pier on the shore of the Gaza Strip. We will bring large shipments of food, tents and medicine.”

President Biden, speaking in the State of the Union address to Congress last night

Isn’t it amazing that Biden now equates the “intolerable situation” of Palestinians in Gaza with “returning all the abductees home”. Once again, the barbaric Palestinians have become “the victims.”

Quote 2:

“We welcome the establishment of a port in Gaza to bring in aid. We are interested in it to avoid the restrictions in the transitions.”

Senior Hamas official Muhammad Nazal in an interview with Al Jazeera last night responding to President Biden’s initiative.

Of course Hamas welcomes the establishment of a port because this signals the end of the maritime blockade around the terror state while making it easier for HamISIS to get its hands on the “goods.”

Equally Disturbing

It appears that the Netanyahu government is completely on board with the port. PM Netanyahu even sent his military secretary to the U.A.E. yesterday to excitedly tell them about this new development.

Why in the world does Israel support the building of a port and why do we need to rush to the U.A.E. to tell them about it?

Even More Disturbing

It has now been revealed that Iran is now openly operating in Gaza in the form of the Iranian Red Crescent.

Crossing into Gaza through the Egyptian Rafah Crossing, the Iranians are now unbelievably operating in northern and southern Gaza. Yesterday, the president of the Iranian Red Crescent stated that “ten thousand tons of food and medical equipment have been transferred from Iran to Gaza.”

Who knows how many weapons, missiles, and ammunition were in these shipments?

The Jerusalem Marathon

The scene in Jerusalem this morning.

The scene in Jerusalem this morning.

The 13th annual run began at 7:00 am this morning with 40,000 runners participating. 15,000 of the runners are from our security and rescue forces–and 1,800 runners are from abroad.

The first finishers should be crossing the line in the next 15 minutes.

The Eurovision Fiasco

As you probably know, Israel has been embroiled in controversy with the European Broadcasting Union for the past month. The first two songs that Israel submitted “October Rain” and “Dancing Forever” were both rejected on the basis that they are “too political.”

Now a third song “Hurricane” that uses the same melody as October Rain has been accepted. The entire episode has been just one more humiliating treatment of Israel in international arena. Many, including your humble servant felt that Israel should have told the EBU to go jump after the first rejection.

We are still not sure what the lyrics are to Hurricane, but here are the lyrics of the two that were rejected. What do you think about the songs, dear reader?

October Rain

There’s no air left to breathe

There is no place for me

They were all good children, each one of them

Those that write history
Stand with me
Look into my eyes and see
People go away but never say goodbye

Someone stole the moon tonight

Took my light
Everything is black and white

Who’s the fool who told you
Boys don’t cry

Hours and hours and flowers
Life is no game for the cowards
Why does time go wild
Every day I’m losing my mind
Holding on in this mysterious ride

Dancing in the storm
We got nothing to hide
Take me home

And leave the world behind
And I promise you that never again
I’m still wet from this October rain
October rain

“Dancing Forever”

My mind hiding
I don’t know what’s right
Take me to the right road
There’s no more time and I can’t go wrong
Breathe in
I know that I’m strong
I break all the chains
I’m on the edge now
Watch me fly away

Oh dance like an angel
Oh you will remember

That I will dance forever
I will dance again
Oh dance like an angel

Drowning in the sunrise
My heart is so cold, but my soul is on fireSomeone is calling from paradise

The hope doesn’t stop, it just spreads its wings
It is like a million stars that suddenly light up in the sky
Heart on fire I’m a fighter
Don’t stop the music
Turn it up louder

I spread out my wings
Flying through the sky hear violins
Angels don’t cry
They only sing
Still feel the ground
Beneath my feet

On these notes, we bid you a Shabbat Shalom!
