UPDATE 8:00 AM

May Their Memories Be For a Blessing

Sgt. Nisim Kachlon

Sgt. Nisim Kachlon

Sgt. Nisim Kachlon, 21, from Hadera, a fighter in Battalion 435 of the Givati Brigade fell in battle in southern Gaza. He is the 253rd IDF soldier who has fallen in Gaza.

Zahar Bashara.

Zahar Bashara.

Zahar Bashara (31), an Israeli-Druze from Ein Kania in the Golan Heights, was murdered yesterday in a Hezbollah missile attack on the paper plant where he worked in Kiryat Shmona. His friend remembered him: “It is so sad and difficult to process that he is not with us. He was an honorable, sincere man with a good heart who loved to work with his friends and believed wholeheartedly in coexistence. He always said ‘We don’t have a lot of time in this world. As long as we are here, let’s fill it with good.’

On the Ground in Gaza

Battles continue in all sections of Gaza. Here in Ashdod, we heard explosions all night long that are continuing at this moment.

The Shifa Hospital remains a hotspot with the terrorists barricaded on the upper floors of buildings.

On the Ground in the North

The IDF announced last night that in the past 48 hours it killed 12 Jama’a Islamia terrorists from Lebanon who tried to infiltrate the IDF military post at Mt. Dov. Another attempted infiltration of the post by a Hezbollah Radwan unit was also thwarted.

On the Ground in Judea and Samaria

In response to what the IDF calls the “increasing desperation” of the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, and because the IDF says that it is dealing with more terrorism with fewer boots on the ground, the IDF General Command has made the flabbergasting recommendations: that the government permit 100,000 Palestinian workers to enter Israel, and that the government reopen the crossings in northern Samaria so that Israeli-Arabs can shop in Jenin and Shechem in order to boost the Palestinian economy.

Say what?

In order to soothe Palestinian desperation and economic problems and alleviate an IDF manpower shortage, we are supposed to flood Israel with Palestinians and allow Israeli-Arabs to pour into the terrorist hotbeds of Jenin and Shechem.

Unbelievable.

Update on the Coalition Crisis on the Conscription Law

The Attorney General has said she will issue an opinion by 2 pm this afternoon as to whether the government should be given an extension to find a solution to crisis concerning drafting ultra-orthodox into the IDF.

No Violation of International Humanitarian Law

U.S. State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller confirmed that Israel has provided written and credible assurances that weapons supplied to Israel will be used in accordance with international human rights law.

Miller added: “We did not find that they (Israel) are violating international humanitarian law, neither with regard to the conduct of the war nor with regard to the provision of humanitarian aid.”

As if we didn’t know.
