PM Netanyahu on Sunday (April 9th): ” . . . There has been a significant decline in the scope of terrorist attacks.

At this hour, IDF forces are searching on Route 60 for a vehicle carrying armed Palestinian terrorists.

At 3:10 pm this afternoon, a Palestinian terrorist attempted to axe an Israeli soldier in the head. The soldier was not wounded because the blade of the axe hit his helmet. The terrorist was shot and killed.

At 2:35 pm this afternoon, two 12-year-old Palestinians armed with knives and carrying a “farewell note” were captured  in the Old City of Jerusalem before carrying out attacks.

Numerous “rock” attacks have occurred at such places as Beit Hadassah in Hevron, Karmi Tzur, Tekoa, Shechem, Betar Illit, Hizma, and Silwan.

Palestinian terrorists carried out a shooting attack near Kochav Ya’akov. No Israelis were wounded.

–>Ya’alon continues his rampage in Judea and Samaria.

Early this morning, the Israeli Civil Administration–under the direction of “Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon–arrived at a Jewish community just outside of Hevron and destroyed a synagogue there.

Destruction of Jewish homes and synagogues has become the hallmark of Ya’alon’s “Defense” Ministry.

–>The BDS boycott grows worse?

Well, not really. Companies continue coming to Israel to set up shop. Yesterday it was Motorola which announced that it is opening an “Innovations Center” in the country that will deal with cyber analytics, mobile devices, and internet applications.

Motorola CEO Greg Brown met with PM Netanyahu last night and offered these words:

“We are excited to be here . . . When we think of PhD degree holders, data scientists, high-tech resources in the areas of analytics and cyber, Motorola wants to invest more on resources here in Israel . . . This area is outstanding for its innovation, technology incubation, and investments in joint ventures. We decided that in addition to the US, especially in Silicon Valley, will invest in start-ups here in Israel, making emerging, next generation technologies.”

TODAY’S BLOG:

It is a pattern that we have seen all too many times before.

First, PM Netanyahu campaigns in Judea and Samaria promising that he will approve new construction in Jewish communities.

Second, months later,  we hear from those communities that construction has indeed been approved.

Third, usually within a day or two,  Netanyahu announces that no construction has been approved.

Yesterday morning, we were at step two. This map was published showing the locations where new apartments had been approved:

The supposed map of new construction in Judea and Samaria.

The supposed map of new construction in Judea and Samaria.

For example, 54 apartments were supposedly approved for construction in Har Bracha and 70 more in Nokdim.

But guess what? Today we are at Step 3. The Prime Minister’s Office declared last night that no construction has been approved by Netanyahu and Ya’alon.

None. Zilch. Zero.

The head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, had this to say after the announcement:

“This is a mockery . . . Jewish communities cannot continue to stand idly by while our hands are tied and construction is frozen. We must be allowed to grow. I urge the government to come to its senses and realize the mandate in whose name it was established.”

Unfortunately, your humble servant has some news for Dagan: the government will not come to its senses; construction will remain frozen; and Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria will be slowly strangled.
