***Palestinian terrorists on the loose.

The “Hebron sniper” struck twice yesterday. The sniper, or snipers, has been shooting Israelis since back in September 2013 when a Givati soldier was killed near the Cave of the Patriarchs (your humble servant happened to be in the exact spot where the soldier was killed 30 minutes before).

From then until yesterday, 6 Israelis have been shot. Every attempt to ferret out the sniper has been unsuccessful.

At the same time, the Palestinian murderer of two Israelis at the Tel Aviv pub on Friday remains uncaptured. The focus of the search is now Ramat Aviv area near where the terrorist’s phone was found yesterday.

TODAY’S BLOG:

As this blog is being written today, many roads along the Lebanese border have been blocked by the IDF.

At 3:56 pm, a roadside bomb was detonated which damaged two IDF vehicles. Apparently no Israeli soldiers were wounded, but this is precisely the same method that Hezbollah has used in the past to kidnap and kill Israelis.

Shortly thereafter, the IDF fired artillery shells into southern Lebanon near the Wazzani River beside the town of Ghajar. According to Lebanese sources, several villagers were wounded.

At 4:30 pm, Hezbollah television, Al-Manar, ran a news flash: “The Martyr Samir Kuntar squad of Hezbollah detonated a large explosive device on an Israeli Hummer.”

At the current time, the heads of the various branches of the IDF are meeting to assess the situation. In the meantime, thousands of IDF troops are streaming northward to counter the Hezbollah threat.

In sum, what has happened today is part of the ongoing process of Hezbollah searching for IDF vulnerabilities in advance of a full-fledged border raid–a raid that will almost surely come in the next month.
