How low can Obama and Kerry go?

We should find out in about 90 minutes when Kerry outlines his and Obama’s vision of Middle East peace. To put it a different way, Kerry and Obama will delineate how they have have always believed in the fraudulent Palestinian narrative.

Another event occurred last night that shows the depths to which the Obama Administration is plunging.

According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, John Kerry called Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and insisted that the Quartet (the U.S., U.N., the European, Russia) adopt the Obama/Kerry vision.

Lavrov refused.

The Russians say that refusal was based on:

1. The Russian belief that any solution must be based on direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.

2. The Russian belief that the Obama/Kerry vision is being driven by internal American politics.

Your humble servant strongly supports the Russian position on this point, but at the same time condemns how the Russians voted in favor of Security Council 2334.

How low can Obama and Kerry go?

Stay tuned. Israelstreet will critique Kerry’s speech as soon as it happens.

CRITIQUE OF KERRY’S SPEECH

The Secretary of State ranted for more than an hour. The high, or low points:

1. Kerry offered a false choice. Accepting the Palestinian and leftist narrative, he endlessly repeated that there can either be a two state solution, or Israel will not be democratic and Jewish.

This is demonstrably not true. There are only 100,000 Palestinians living in Area C (at most). Annexing C and giving Israeli citizenship to every one of them will not affect Israel’s democratic or Jewish character.

But the Kerries and Obamas of the world never realize that Israel does not want to have anything to do with Areas A, B, and Gaza where some 97% of all Palestinians live.

The Palestinian state should consist of Gaza, Area A, and Area B.

2. Once again, Kerry expects nothing from the Palestinians while demanding everything from Israelis. While demanding that Israelis stop construction in Jewish communities, there was not one single word about putting pressure on Palestinians to recognize a Jewish state of Israel. As PM Netanyahu often says, the failure of the Palestinians to recognize a Jewish state is the core of the problem.

By the way, within an hour of Kerry’s speech, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki declared “We will never recognize Israel as a Jewish state.”

3. In the same vein, Kerry continuously fell back on the Arab Initiative as a model that could bring peace. He never mentioned that the Initiative foresees that 5,000,000+ so-called “refugees” should be given homes in Israel.

4. Once again, there was no mention of all the offers that Israelis have made to Palestinians for peace over the years–offers that would have given the Palestinians everything they say they want, and offers they rejected.

5. Despite referencing Israel’s historic connection to Jerusalem, Kerry could only say is that our eternal capital including the Jewish Quarter and the Temple Mount must be subject to “final status negotiations.” He further commented that those negotiations have to involve Muslims, Christians, and Jews.

All in all it was a pathetically insulting performance by an arrogant man; Kerry and Obama have always declared that they know better than Israelis what is good for Israel.

One final note: Kerry still has the Nobel Peace Prize on his mind–he was careful to note that the ideas in the speech were his, and that President Obama had signed on to them.
