The News on the Israel Street

Palestinian terrorism yesterday:

Palestinian arsonists were hard at work all day attempting to burn down forests, Jewish communities, security fences and anything else they could find.

Fires were set throughout Judea and Samaria focused at numerous sites in the Rosh Tzurim Forest near the kibbutz of the same name in Gush Etzion. Other fires were set near Psagot and Ofra.

“Rock” and Molotov attacks occurred in at least 20 locations.

And despite the terrorism the flood of tourists continues:

More tourists visited Israel in April than in any other month in Israeli history.

349,000 tourists, a 40% increase over April of last year, surged into the country and spent a record 6,000,000,000 shekels.

Children Are Our Future!

What do German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rota, newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron, Swedish Prime Minister Stephen Lepain, Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Batel, and Scotland’s first minister, Nicolas Sturgeon all have in common?

None of them have any children.

And of course these leaders are completely representative of the populations of their countries.  For example, 30 percent of German women today have no children, a number that rises to 40 percent among university-educated women.

All of the above information is contained in the fascinating article “Europe’s Childless Leaders Sleepwalking Us to Disaster” by Giulio Meotti  which was published a few days ago by the Gatestone Institute.

Meotti goes on to point out:

“There have never been so many childless politicians leading Europe as today. They are modern, open minded and multicultural and they know that ‘everything finishes with them’. In the short term, being childless is a relief since it means no spending for families, no sacrifices and that no one complains about the future consequences. As in a research report financed by the European Union: ‘No kids, no problem!’. . . as a mother or father, you have a genuine interest in the future state that you are a leader. The most important leaders in Europe do not leave children behind.”

Meotti goes on to quote Douglas Murray in The Times: “Europe is committing suicide. Or at least its leaders have decided to commit suicide. Europe today has little desire to reproduce itself, fight for itself, or even take its own side in an argument.”

So let’s steer away from Meotti and return to our initial question:

What do German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rota, newly elected French President Emmanuel Macaron, Swedish Prime Minister Stephen Lepain, Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Batel, Scotland’s first minister, Nicolas Sturgeon all have in common?

They all lead governments that massively fund governmental entities and support non-governmental NGOs that attempt to delegitimize and undermine Israel. None of them seems to be able to understand how Israel does not want to commit suicide, how Israel is willing to fight for itself, and how Israel is unwilling to be overrun by so-called and self-proclaimed Palestinian “refugees.”

More than this, they cannot possibly understand why Israel encourages a high birthrate. They cannot see that for Israel “Kids Are No Problem!”

They do not understand that for us, children are our future.
