Yom HaShoah began last night at sundown and continues until this evening at sundown. At 10:00 am this morning, sirens will blare, and all of Israel will stand at silent attention for two minutes to remember those who died in the Holocaust. Israelstreet encourages you to do the same wherever you may be.
How disgusting are the Palestinians? Look at the pictures below (courtesy of PMW: Palestinian Media Watch):
What are you looking at in the above photographs?
The top horrific photograph was taken by American soldiers after they entered the Nordhausen Concentration Camp on April 12, 1945. More than 3000 emaciated Jewish dead in their striped camp clothes were lying in the streets of the camp. The mortified and angered American soldiers forced German civilians living nearby to come into the Camp and lay out the corpses in lines–and it was at this point that the photograph was taken.
The second “photograph” is not a photograph at all but a photoshopped picture produced by the PLO as part of fake “documentary” shown on Palestinian television several days ago. It purports to show Palestinians “murdered” at Deir Yassin in 1948, but in fact, the pictured dead are the Jews from the same picture at Nordhausen (again, note the layout of the bodies in the two circles). The fake documentary concluded with the egregiously fake “information” that Jewish fighters burned the men, women, and children of Deir Yassin in the “village oven.”
The bottom line is that the Palestinians continue their efforts to steal every element of Jewish history. At one time, these efforts were confined to Israel where the Palestinians constantly declare that there is no Jewish history. But in recent years, the Palestinians have even begun trying to appropriate the Holocaust.
The News On The Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
**At 1:33 am this morning, all of Israel was awakened by incoming missile alerts on our phones. Along the Gaza border in Zone 223, tens of thousands were sent running to their bomb shelters.
It appears that one missile hit in the area of Kfar Aza. In response, a bomb-carrying Israeli drone struck a Hamas outpost. At least one terrorist was killed, and two were wounded.
**There was an attempted bulldozer attack near Deir Qaddis when a Palestinian drove through a checkpoint and tried to run over Border Policeman. No Israelis were wounded; the terrorist was captured.
**The IDF captured three armed terrorists at the security gate to Beit El.
**Numerous “rock” and Molotov attacks took place throughout Judea and Samaria from Jenin to Hevron.
The sickening deal made by the Anne Frank Foundation . . .
It came to light yesterday that the Anne Frank Foundation has shockingly signed a deal with the abominable New Israel Fund (NIF) to turn over all proceeds from the sales of Anne Frank’s Diary to the NIF.
Your humble servant abhors this political decision made by the Foundation and cannot help but think of the terrible irony of money from a book written by a teenaged Jewish victim of the Holocaust being used to fund anti-Israel organizations in Israel.
One wonders what Anne Frank would think.
The reports from Syria . . .
. . . are of a country in panic with roads choked with Hezbollah forces, Iranians, and Russians all fleeing areas that might hold military targets.
What will happen next is anyone’s guess. American Secretary of Defense James Mattis declared yesterday that the U.S. is ready to strike, but British PM Theresa May seems to have “gone wobbly” wanting more proof that Assad gassed Douma. And French President Macron is now worrying that if the French attack Syrian chemical depots, France is likely to be hit with a chemical attack itself.
As usual, President Trump is the unknown variable, but he seems determined to not follow his predecessors’s pusillanimity in the face of evil.
The Unbelievable Case of Nirit Zimora
Regular readers of israelstreet know how many times your humble servant has criticized the military justice system in Judea and Samaria. We were particularly outspoken during the kangaroo trial of IDF soldier Elor Azariya who was sent to prison for killing a wounded terrorist whom he believed posed an immediate threat.
Try to wrap your mind around this decision from the same military court yesterday.
On October 28 2015, Nirit Zimora was crossing the parking lot at the Gush Etzion Junction. Zimora, the mother of eight children who lived in the Beit Hagai community in the south Hevron Hills, had just finished shopping at a local store.
From out of nowhere, a Palestinian terrorist from Hevron, Hamza Faiz, charged toward her from behind yelling “Allahu Akbar.”
In his hand, Faiz grasped a knife with a 25 cm (10 inch) long blade.
When he caught Zimora from behind, he stabbed her in the upper back/lower neck area narrowly missing her spinal cord.
He stabbed her so hard that the knife handle broke off leaving the blade sticking out of her back. Then he then attempted to flee the scene, but was captured by soldiers in the parking lot.
Zimora was placed in a private car and rushed to Sha’are Zedek Hospital for emergency surgery. She survived.
Fast forward to yesterday.
Faiz was acquitted by the military court of attempted murder.
Yes, you read that correctly.
He was acquitted by the military court of the attempted murder of Nirit Zimora.
Despite the fact that he yelled Allahu Akbar, stabbed Zimora viciously in the back/neck, and attempted to escape, he was acquitted by the military judges of attempted murder.
The presiding judges, Lt. Col. Eti Adar and Major Haim Balilty, ludicrously ruled that it could not be proven that Faiz “intended” to kill Zimora. Unbelievably, one reason the judges said that “intent” could not be proven was that the knife was not long enough.
Can you believe this?
Instead Faiz was convicted of “sabotage with aggravated intent, and possession of a knife.”
Sabotage with aggravated intent and possession of a knife?
As you can imagine, the family was outraged.
Nurit, who was in the court, stood and screamed “He is a murderer.” She later said: “For two and a half years, I was walking around with a stab wound in the back; today, I feel like the court judges have stabbed me again and are holding the knife in my back.”
Nurit’s son Yedidya said this:
“Friends, our country is crazy . . . I do not really have words to explain the frustration and anger in the face of stupidity . . . Today, on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, when we commemorate the murder of Jews only because of their Jewishness, judges of the Israel Defense Forces do not recognize the attempted murder of a Jewish woman solely because of her Jewishness.”
Your humble servant could not agree more.
In sum, the military justice system in Israel is an abomination. It convicts our soldiers and acquits terrorists who try to kill us.
On this Yom HaShoah, we would do well to remember the words of Yedidya Zimora.
