The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terrorism in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists tried to run over police officers near a bus stop beside the Police National Headquarters in Jerusalem. They were eventually captured.
Palestinian terrorists using “rocks” and Molotovs attempted to kill Israeli men, women, and children at Auja in the Jordan Valley, Azzun, Al Khader, throughout Gush Etzion, at the Tunnels Checkpoint to Jerusalem, Mishla, the Horseshoe Junction in Binyamin, Nebi Elias, Hevron, Hizma, Tekoa, and near Qalqilya.
Palestinian terrorists in Gaza continue sending Molotov loaded kites across the border into Israel. Several fires are burning at this moment. In the past three weeks, 800 dunams (200 acres) of crops have been burned, valued at 500,000 shekels ($140,000).
A Palestinian was arraigned in court today . . .
The unarmed man from Gaza showed up on the Gaza border begging Israeli soldiers to shoot him. Of course, they did not.
He continued to beg them to shoot so that (in his words) he could receive a $500 payment and a monthly stipend from Hamas. Instead the soldiers arrested him–and he will probably be sent home to Gaza.
Ongoing PLO land fraud . . .
In the last six months, the PLO has fraudulently registered some 283,000 dunams (nearly 70,000 acres) east and northwest of Jerusalem in Area C in the land registry.
Its goal is register all the land in Judea and Samaria by 2023.
On what basis is the PLO making land claims?
Primarily on the basis of the Ottoman Empire’s land registry before 1914–all of the records of which have been transferred to the PLO by Turkey.
The Ottoman Registry simply assigned untended land to Palestinian settlements in the vicinity without any notion of individual land ownership. The land in question still remains barren and untended, but the PLO is attempting to gobble it up.
Where is the Civil Administration? Where is the government? That the Israeli government is allowing such registration defies comprehension.

By now, you have undoubtedly read or heard about the speech that PLO Chairman and unelected Palestinian dictator Abu Mazen (aka “Mahmoud Abbas”) made on Monday to the Palestinian Parliament.
This is the same Abu Mazen that the Western world–led by the European Union and the Democratic Party in the United States–constantly and ludicrously calls Israel’s “partner for peace.”
Why ludicrously? Because we all know his background.
Among other things, Abu Mazen wrote his “doctoral” dissertation back in the 1950s at Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow on the subject that the Holocaust was caused by Zionists and that the number of Jews who were murdered was “greatly exaggerated.”
In the 1970s and 80s, it was Abbas who was the terrorist behind the funding of the terrorists who carried out the Munich massacre of Israeli Olympic athletes as well as numerous other terrorist attacks against Israel.
In the 1990s and thereafter, it was and has been Abu Mazen who has led the incitement to violence against Israelis, encouraged and funded terrorism, and who has overseen the building of schools in Areas A and B which proclaim that there are no such things as Jews.
This is Abu Mazen.
So was it any surprise on Monday when he proclaimed in Ramallah yet again:
“The Holocaust was caused by the social and financial behavior of the Jews. There was no anti-Semitism.”
“Ashkenazi Jews are Turkish with no historical connection to Palestine.”
“Israel is a colonial enterprise that has nothing to do with Judaism. Israel was established to preserve European interests.”
This is precisely what Abu Mazen has been saying all his life. It’s just that people who wish that Israel did not exist either choose to ignore what he says or that they think that the holy mantra of the fraudulent “two state solution” takes precedence over Abu Mazen’s raging anti-Semitism. For example, here was the official milquetoast response from the European Union yesterday:
“We strongly criticize the unacceptable remarks that the actions of Jews led to their persecution in Europe. Such rhetoric only plays into the hands of those who are not interested in the two-state solution–which Abu Mazen has supported again and again.”
In short, who cares if Abu Mazen is anti-Semitic, blames Jews for the Holocaust, says that Jews have no connection to Israel, etc. All of this is trivial compared to “the two-state solution.” After all, Abu Mazen is really a good guy because he has supported the two-state solution “again and again” (he supports it in English but not in Arabic).
It is enough to make you sick.
Once again, it has fallen to the United States to recognize Abbas’ remarks for what they are just as President Trump was virtually the only Western leader to recognize the import of the Iranian revelations two days ago.
Yesterday U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman issued this statement:
“Abu Mazen reached a new low when he claimed that the pogroms against the Jews over the years were because of their ‘social behavior’ and the interest they had in the banks. Whoever thinks that Israel is the reason why there is no peace should think again.”
Actually, it was not really “a new low”, it was the same low.
